Looks can be deceiving!
This D2 belongs to a good customer of ours and is regularly in the workshop for something different every time.
Last time it was in for new powdercoated axles, arms, bushes with air lockers and Brembo big brake kit.
This time he came in for front and rear winches, so we did something different and modified his existing Britpart bumpers and made them both winch bumpers.
The front has been modified and reinforced to take the 8274 with winch controls inside the cab.
The rear has a terrifirma winch mounted to a custom plate that incorporates the towbar as well as the mounting for the bumper, so in total there are 8 chassis fixings to hold it all on.
The controls are also in the cab but the rear winch is powered by a secondary battery mounted in behind the rear cubby, this is charged Via a split charger but also has the option of an “emergency” kill switch that links both batteries together in case one is flattened.
Also mounted with the battery is a Tmaxx compressor which fills a 5 Gallon tank to 120psi mounted under the rear floor which serves the air lockers and a retractable air hose mounted under the drivers Corbeau seat.
This truck doesn’t necessarily look like much from the outside with its faided paint, scratches and dents, but built onto this galvanised Richard’s chassis is quite a capable well built well prepped truck indeed.
Under the bonnet hides the powerful Td5 engine with Roose motorsport hoses, pioneer hoses throughout, td5 performance inside VNT with switchable map via the sport button, custom airbox and snorkel and full 3 inch exhaust all built and made by ourselves at Mac Welding 4x4
