So this is the first MAER stainless steel bulkhead we have fitted and I have to say, after fitting this one, we will be highly recommending these to our customers. The fit is perfect, the finish is amazing! The fact you can pant this easily (unlike galv) is great. Everything lines up perfectly and if you wanted to add additional holes for extra clips or grommets then no problem, it’s not like galv when you’re breaking that seal. The little brackets are really clean and the fact they’re all tig welded on makes a huge difference as it’s so neat.
We will still be fitting galv bulkheads to those who prefer but I really do rate these.
And of course, this bulkhead was fitted to a MAER chassis.

This 110 came to us already having a BMW conversion using the MT82, unfortunately it was a very poor install and parts making it quite dangerous including the wiring, pipework and welding. So, we pulled the whole lot out and started again from scratch, we used the later ali block M57 with the 6hp28 gearbox and we have ended up with probably one the smoothest comfiest 110’s we have ever driven.

Looks can be deceiving!

This D2 belongs to a good customer of ours and is regularly in the workshop for something different every time.
Last time it was in for new powdercoated axles, arms, bushes with air lockers and Brembo big brake kit.

This time he came in for front and rear winches, so we did something different and modified his existing Britpart bumpers and made them both winch bumpers.

The front has been modified and reinforced to take the 8274 with winch controls inside the cab.

The rear has a terrifirma winch mounted to a custom plate that incorporates the towbar as well as the mounting for the bumper, so in total there are 8 chassis fixings to hold it all on.
The controls are also in the cab but the rear winch is powered by a secondary battery mounted in behind the rear cubby, this is charged Via a split charger but also has the option of an “emergency” kill switch that links both batteries together in case one is flattened.

Also mounted with the battery is a Tmaxx compressor which fills a 5 Gallon tank to 120psi mounted under the rear floor which serves the air lockers and a retractable air hose mounted under the drivers Corbeau seat.

This truck doesn’t necessarily look like much from the outside with its faided paint, scratches and dents, but built onto this galvanised Richard’s chassis is quite a capable well built well prepped truck indeed.

Under the bonnet hides the powerful Td5 engine with Roose motorsport hoses, pioneer hoses throughout, td5 performance inside VNT with switchable map via the sport button, custom airbox and snorkel and full 3 inch exhaust all built and made by ourselves at Mac Welding 4x4

This was an interesting one to work on.
We made a custom 3” stainless exhaust for this modified series one, will be a hell of a truck when it’s all finished off Td5 Inside / Performance Inside Pioneer 4x4

Something a bit different, 3” stainless exhaust, twin wastegates and a complete 4” aluminium cold air intake with a modified alisport airbox, all on a jimny based Ultra4 truck
