Another bespoke fabrication job completed and ready for work. 💪💪

A recent custom headstock was designed and built from scratch in-house to allow a new Quicke loader to utilise existing Manitou attachments.

All components were CNC plasma cut in our workshop before being fabricated, assembled and finished in John Deere green to match the new loader. We also fitted and plumbed in the customer-supplied Manitou hydraulic locking ram, providing quick and secure attachment changes.

From design and fabrication through to final installation, this project showcases our ability to deliver practical, heavy-duty solutions tailored to our customers’ requirements.

Bromach recently carried out line boring work on a HS Marine crane for a valued client, focusing on both the pedestal and the boom. The job was needed due to the bores being worn, oversized and corroded from its marine operating environment. 🏗️ 🛥️

All bores were initially machined larger to enable us to lay down two passes of weld on clean material before final line boring to finished sizes to suit brand new OEM pins. In total 6 bores repaired ranging from 120mm to 130mm.

All work was completed on site, keeping disruption to a minimum and getting the crane back in action as quickly as possible for the client.

Another JCB headstock rolled into the Bromach workshop with the usual complaint — split centre tilt brackets. This is a well-known issue, reported on numerous machines.

While it was here, we gave it the full treatment. A bit of line boring to tighten up some tired old bores, the damaged brackets were cut off, and new, beefier replacements were designed in AutoCAD and sent off to the CNC plasma for cutting. Once cut, they were welded into place and line bored back to size to suit the original pin.

All pulled back into line, tightened up properly, and built stronger than before — ready to get back out there and take the punishment. 💪

A recent job in from W & W Mackie saw a set of low loader ramps in for a bit of an overhaul — started a while back in the a days when it wasn’t raining! 🌧️

After years of heavy graft, the ramps were showing plenty of wear. We line-bored the hinge points and cylinder mounting brackets and fitted off-the-shelf bushes, allowing the client to easily swap them out in future should any wear reappear.

The hinge brackets for the ramp splits were also past their best, so these were removed, new ones cut on the CNC plasma, and refitted with new in house manufactured pins.

A new main pin was also manufactured to replace the original bent one.

Many thanks to W & W Mackie for the work and it’s great to see these fitted back on the trailer and ready to get back to work — in rain or shine (most likely rain).

Bromach recently completed on-site line boring work at a recycling plant in Perth.

Starting on Friday afternoon, working right through the weekend to ensure everything was reassembled and ready by the start of the week.

In total, four sets of bores were line bored, new bushes and seals were fitted to the cylinders, and the equipment was reassembled with new pins—getting everything back up and running quickly and efficiently.

Even had time to make a friend! 🐀
