Based on the beautifully stunning River Dart, I have been in the marine industry for the last 20 years. Being the son of a shipwright, and having built my first dingy from the age of 10, this is not just a job I chose, but a lifestyle that chose me. After completing my 5 year apprenticeship in Totnes, I stayed in the marine industry, working solo, alongside my father and other traditional shipwri

ghts, then onto more modern builds where I spent a couple of years at Princess Yachts in Plymouth, training and auditing the higher graded carpenters and deck fitters. Then 4 years ago, I decided to finally start my own business of “Nick Thomas Boatbuilder”

Some exciting news!

We are now offering boat/trailer storage, launch, recovery and maintenance packages, at a very competitive price!

Our outdoor secure unit is just a stones throw away from Galmpton Creek on the River Dart, and has CCTV, with security lighting and locked gates.

Please get in touch for prices and availability, as these spaces are only limited to 12 boats (9 now remaining).

And with spring just around the corner, it’s a great opportunity to secure your spot for the season and be set up for the end of season too!

All craft stored must be under 8m / 26ft length and have their own trailer.

Any boats over 8m / 26ft that require maintenance and would like to also be stored, with Dolphin Boatyard in Galmpton Creek can be considered.
