There’s no shortage of project momentum across renewables and energy infrastructure right now.

What’s coming through in conversations at All-Energy is the gap between that momentum and the electrical detail needed to move forward: grid connection applications, HV design, studies that need to be scoped early, and the connection strategy decisions that underpin it all.

The EPS team has been talking through exactly those challenges at Stand F38, covering power system studies, grid code compliance, earthing, HV/LV design and connection strategy with developers, ICPs, consultants and asset owners working across the sector.

If you didn’t make it across yesterday, the team are back today and available to talk through your project requirements.

Whether you’re in early-stage development or heading into detailed design, speak with the team before the show closes.

Over the past 12 months, our headcount has more than doubled. In that time, many colleagues have progressed significantly within their first one to two years with us. Advancement here is not defined by tenure alone. It is earned through trust, responsibility, and the opportunity to take ownership.

We encourage our engineers to step forward early. That may mean leading complex power system studies, mentoring new team members, or supporting the delivery of high-profile projects across our core sectors. Everyone contributes to the direction of the business.

Our structure supports quick decisions, recognises achievement, and rewards performance as it happens. As we grow, capability and accountability grow with us.

We measure progress by the strength of what we deliver. That remains the standard as we continue to scale.

Apprentice Spotlight | Alfie, CAD Technician Apprentice 👷‍♂️⚡

From technical drawings to complex power system projects, Alfie’s apprenticeship at EPS has involved real responsibility since day one.

“It’s been really interesting and eye-opening. I’ve learned a lot, even if I don’t always realise it until I look back at where I started. I’ve really enjoyed it so far, and I like getting involved in as much as possible.”

As a CAD Technician apprentice, Alfie supports active projects, working alongside experienced engineers and developing both technical capability and the transferable skills needed in a professional consultancy environment.

In our latest article, Alfie shares what it’s like working across complex engineering projects, the skills he’s been developing on the job and how his apprenticeship has shaped his future.

Supporting growth through apprenticeships 🌱

Over time, apprenticeships have become part of the way EPS builds capability and grows as a business.

Across engineering and commercial roles, apprentices have become part of the day-to-day life of the business, contributing to live projects, strengthening internal processes, and growing in confidence as they take on more responsibility.

As EPS has developed, so have the people who started their careers with us through apprenticeships. That continuity matters. It helps retain knowledge, build trusted relationships, and grow teams organically as the business evolves.

"We see apprenticeships as an investment in people. Watching individuals gain confidence and shape their careers as the business evolves is something we’re incredibly proud of"

Joanne Hall, Company Director.

By investing time in developing skills internally, we’ve built capability in a way that feels sustainable and personal – creating teams who understand how we work and what good looks like in an engineering consultancy environment.

For us, apprenticeships play an important role in growing the business while supporting people to grow with it.

💡 Did you know?

According to the IET's 2025 UK Engineering and Technology Skills Survey, only 61 % of employers feel their teams are equipped for the challenges ahead. Many also cite a lack of time as the biggest barrier to developing future-critical skills.

At EPS, we don’t wait for growth; we build it.

Building capability means giving people responsibility early, exposing them to real engineering decisions, and creating space for learning alongside delivery. Development is not something we postpone until later stages of a career. It is embedded from day one.

When growth stalls elsewhere, at EPS it’s real. If you want your skills to match your ambition, this is where you’ll find them.

A great first outing for EPS at the Business Fives Tees Valley 5-A-Side Tournament ⚽🌟

Yesterday, Team EPS took part in the Business Fives Tees Valley 5-A-Side Football Tournament, joining businesses from across the region for competitive football and networking.

A special shout-out to our captain, Alex, our golden glove runner-up, Elliott, and the rest of Team EPS for a strong effort throughout, finishing with a semi-final run and appearance in the runner-up final.

We were pleased to exceed our fundraising target in support of The Teesside Family Foundation, contributing to their ongoing work with children and families across the local area. It was a strong collective effort on the day, with over £2,000 raised across the event for the chosen charities.

Thank you to everyone who donated or showed their support; it is genuinely appreciated.

A further thank you to Business Fives for a well-run and enjoyable event, and to John Hendrie, former professional footballer, for joining the event as a guest speaker. John shared stories from his playing career with Middlesbrough, Newcastle United, Bradford City, and Barnsley, followed by a short Q&A with the teams.

Congratulations to all the teams involved for a great effort. We’re already looking forward to the next one.
