The Best of Stockport: Alexandra Park

Alexandra Park in Edgeley wasn’t always a park, it was once the grounds of Edgeley House, close to the old Edgeley Bleach Works and the Sykes family who ran it. What’s now a five minute walk from Stockport station used to be private land.

Today it’s bowling greens, tennis and basketball courts, a skate park, and a reservoir popular with local anglers. Still doing the job a Victorian park was built for.

Particularly pretty in the sunshine.

Wild Wood Adventure Playground at Waddesdon Manor, tucked into the trees, sunlight breaking through the canopy. Slides spiralling through the woodland, mesh crawl tunnels weaving overhead. The kind of place that makes an afternoon disappear.

Some places just get play right.

When the brief has a story, the details should tell it 🍯

This is our Adventure³ play unit at Lyle Park, London. The site sits near the old Tate & Lyle sugar refinery, so we worked the heritage into every detail of the build.

The steel brackets were designed and fabricated with a dripping honey profile. The climbing wall features engraved syrup drops. A timber honeyspoon sits on top of the slide support post. The colour scheme ties it all together in amber, green and gold.

It’s one of our standard units, but modified to tell the site’s unique story.

We design and manufacture swings in timber, steel, stainless steel and Robinia. Standard swing frames, cantilever swings, group swings, accessible options, and completely bespoke designs.
