HB2G Ltd export 99% of our Business and 30% of our suppliers are EU, China or USA based.
On a recent order for various sensors sourced from the USA and China, we decided to consolidate the various shipments at my friend’s company located in Antwerp. When we decided to ship the goods to Sonatrach Refinery in Oran, the French customs refused to ship the goods using our EROI.
The reason we were informed that since leaving the EU British companies cannot ship their orders from EU ports or airports using British EROIs.
Obviously these rules mean that in future we need to bring the goods to the UK and then ship them to the final destination adding costs and time. This exercice will have of course a negative impact on our competitive advantage in our field.
I have reached for advice to our Chamber of Commerce and unfortunately received no feedback.
