2026 Imola Classic Sunday

With back-to-back-to-back races, it was challenging yet hugely rewarding final day of the Le Mans Classic Series. After a race long battle with a Porsche 904, John scored a Gentlemen Challenge class podium finish with his Morgan SLR, securing TGC Pre-66 class 2026 championship.
He had no time to pick up the trophy as he was immediately strapped into the Chevron B26 for the CER2 race. It was a tight race with close racing for both John and Nigel. Sadly, a penalty robbed them of a deserved class podium.
That was quickly forgotten as a stellar drive in the Corvette saw our two drivers grab second overall and first in the GT2C class. The points scored during this weekend ensured that John and Nigel ended the inaugural Le Mans Classic Series as class champion. At the end of another exciting year of racing with Peter Auto, we would like to thank the organisers, our technical team, the drivers and the marshals that have kept us safe.

2026 Imola Classic Saturday
Day two of the Imola Classic was split between qualifying for CER2 with ‘Chocolate Drop’ and the first of the pair of Gentlemen Challenge and Endurance Racing Legends 2 races. In the last timed session of the morning, John and Nigel clocked the eighth fastest time with the very distinct Chevron B26. In our first race of the weekend, John had a solid run to finish tenth with the Morgan from 12th on the Gentlemen Challenge grid. The Corvette was up next in ERL2 with John taking the start. Nigel took over during the pit stop and brought the Corvette home in sixth overall and fourth in class.

Tomorrow, all three cars will be back out in search for some more great results.

2026 Imola Classic Friday

The first day of the 2026 Imola Classic is in the books. The action kicked off bright and early with free practice for the Gentleman Challenge at 8:30 local time. It was followed later in the day by the qualifying session where John clocked the 10th fastest time in his Morgan SLR. With two 40-minute races ahead, there are plenty of opportunities for a podium finish. In the two ERL2 qualifying sessions both John and Nigel improved and will line up eleventh for the first of two races with the Corvette. It was free practice only for CER2 but John and Nigel were on form and ended the session sixth fastest in the Chevron B26. Tomorrow will see qualifying for ‘Chocolate Drop’ and the first races for the SLR and the Corvette.

2026 Imola Classic Thursday

We have arrived at the Autodromo di Imola Enzo e Dino Ferrari for the final round of the 2026 Le Mans Classic Series. After setting up the cars, we today had the opportunity to test the Chevron B26 and Corvette to ensure they are ready to go for tomorrow’s practice and qualifying sessions. These can be followed through live timing and the races will be streamed live on the Peter Auto YouTube channel.

Estoril Classics Sunday
With back-to-back-to-back races, John and Nigel wrapped up the 2026 Estoril Classics. First up was the second Endurance Racing Legends heat. In the combined field, John spent the opening stint battling both GT cars and prototypes. After the mandatory pit-stop, Nigel grabbed the rumbling bull by the horns and added another class win to the Corvette’s tally.

Next up was Classic Endurance Racing 2 with the Chevron B26. Hampered by a misbehaving front damper, John and Nigel did very well to salvage a third in class. Our final race of the weekend was the second Gentlemen Challenge heat. John took the start with the Morgan SLR and had to fend off Porsche 904s left and right. Eventually our drivers managed to keep three of the mid-engined Porsches behind to finish fourth in class.

That ended a fabulous weekend of racing for which we would like to thank our team (trackside and HQ), drivers and the ever diligent organisation. We are now Italy-bound for the season finale of the Le Mans Classic Series at Imola in four weeks time.

Estoril Classics Saturday
Day two of the 2026 Estoril Classics kicked off with qualifying for Classic Endurance Racing 2. In a session shortened by a red flag only John got a chance to set a time with the Chevron B26 albeit a shock absorber failure hampered performance. This was good enough for twelfth overall and fifth in class.

The first Gentlemen Challenge race was affected by a lengthy safety car period during the pit window. John and Nigel nevertheless managed to finish just off the overall podium and third in class with the Morgan SLR.

John had a great opening stint in the combined Endurance Racing Legends grid with the mighty Corvette. This allowed Nigel to secure what was another ERL2 victory, and sixth overall.

On Sunday we do it all again with the CER2 1 hour race added to the mix.

Le Mans Classic Series Estoril Classics Friday
The opening day of the 2026 Estoril Classics was a busy one with five practice and qualifying sessions. After free practice first thing in the morning, John and Nigel qualified the Morgan SLR seventh on the Gentlemen Challenge grid. Next up was free practice for the Chevron B26 in Classic Endurance Racing 2, John drove solo to get more experience with a new set up change which proved promising. Qualifying will follow on Saturday morning. The Corvette proved particularly competitive in the second of two qualifying sessions. Unfortunately timed spin in Q1 left no time to rejoin, but bounced back in Q2 where John and Nigel were fastest of all GT cars and will start tomorrow’s race fifth on the grid.

2026 Estoril Classics Thursday
After the successful Dix Mille Tours, we have now travelled to Portugal for the fifth round of the Le Mans Classic Series. Ahead of the Estoril Classic race weekend, we got the opportunity today for a final test. Tomorrow the action will start with John and Nigel sharing the Chevrolet Corvette C6.R in the combined Endurance Racing Legends grid and the Chevron B26 in Classic Endurance Racing, and the Morgan SLR in the Gentlemen Challenge.

2026 Dix Mille Tours Sunday
Our first race of the final day of the 2026 Dix Mille Tours was for Classic Endurance Racing 1 with John chasing a class podium. Starting fourth in class, he had a very strong race and moved into the lead of the two-litre class after the stops. He eventually finished eleventh overall and had to settle for second in class after he had to yield the lead to Nigel in a sister car.

Next up was the second Endurance Racing Legends heat. Yesterday’s race was a hard act to follow but after a difficult opening lap, John got into his stride and made up several places with the Corvette. After the stop, Nigel put in some stellar laps but just missed out on the podium. To underline how well the Corvette worked this weekend, Nigel did set the fastest lap of the race on the very last lap.

The weekend concluded with Classic Endurance Racing 2 and the Chevron B26. With the original rear wing back on the car, it worked much better. From 15th on the grid, John and Nigel worked their way up the order to finish seventh overall and fourth in class.

With the outright victory for the Corvette and a podium finish for John with the B19, it was a hugely successful weekend. We would like to thank the mechanics, drivers, marshals and organisation for a great event. Next round of the Le Mans Classic Series is the Estoril Classics in three weeks time.

2026 Dix Mille Tours Saturday
John and Nigel had a superb race with the Corvette today to clinch overall victory in Endurance Racing Legends 2. Starting fifth on the grid, John had a flawless opening stint and handed over the Corvette to Nigel. He chased down the leaders, setting the fastest lap of the race along the way. Nigel grabbed the lead on the penultimate lap and grabbed our first outright win with Corvette.

Earlier in the day, John qualified the Chevron B19 for the Classic Endurance Racing 1 race. Despite a lengthy red flag interruption, he set the 13th fastest time in what is a very competitive field. CER2 qualifying was not quite as straightforward as we had not been able to properly test a new wing on the B26 in the rain and it turned out it did not work as expected. Nigel and John nevertheless set the combined 15th fastest time and will start tomorrow’s race with the old setup back on the car.

Tomorrow, we will have three more races, which can all be followed live on the Peter Auto YouTube channel.
