We absolutely love it when our customers bring their builds and classics down to see us, but this morning's visitor really stopped us in our tracks. Check out this absolutely stunning, beautifully maintained 1930s Vauxhall.
It's a fantastic reminder of why we do what we do—helping car builders keep automotive passion alive and kicking on the roads.

We’ve been having the best time chatting with one of our lovely customers, about this beautiful Lotus Elite!

Here are a few fascinating facts they shared about this British icon that we just had to pass along:

# # 1. The World’s First Fiberglass Monocoque
When the original Elite launched in 1957, Chapman had an idea: the entire body should be the chassis. It became the first production car to use a fiberglass monocoque, making it incredibly stiff and feather-light—weighing in at only about 503kgs!

# # 2. Sleeker Than a Modern Supercar
It achieved a drag coefficient of 0.29, which is actually more aerodynamic than many sports cars hitting the road today. That sleek profile allowed it to hit 110+ mph using nothing more than a tiny 1.2L engine.

# # 3. A Le Mans Dominator
Don’t let the "cute" styling fool you; this car was a certified giant-killer on the track. The Elite won its class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans six years running (1959–1964).
