NEWS - Apprentices! This year, we are proud to announce that we are starting two apprentices at White Horse Plastics: identical twins Dexter and Theo Kent from Buckland, Oxfordshire. They are a great fit for us - their enthusiasm for engineering is abundant and began long before they had to think about careers. They were home-schooled from 2020, and during this time they saved up and bought a 3D printer, which they used to print their own projects.
Apart from their interest in engineering, they are also members of their local gliding club, and we were impressed to learn that Theo flew solo for the first time when he was just 14 and a half! We were similarly impressed to discover that Dexter had played the Duke of York in the recent production of Shakespeareโs Richard III at Blenheim Palace. They are clearly a talented and adventurous pair.
They will be attending Abingdon & Witney College to undertake a Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship. With us, they will be working in and developing skills across a multitude of injection moulding and general engineering disciplines, which they will subsequently apply to our medical, consumer and engineering projects. They will also be among the first generation of young engineers to work with biopolymers - this is a rapidly growing area of our business as we have chosen to specialise in the moulding of next generation, sustainable materials.
Welcome Dexter and Theo! ๐
