⚠️ What stopped these thieves from stealing this Range Rover?

🔒 Range Rover thefts are still happening, with thieves cutting into the back of boots to try and steal the car. Unfortunately, this is the third time this customer’s Range Rover has been targeted, but luckily, our approved installer fitted a CAN-PHANTOM immobiliser on the day it was delivered.

❌ With CAN-PHANTOM fitted, the car won’t start without the correct PIN code, entered using the car’s existing buttons. Only the owner knows the code, so the thieves weren’t getting very far. As you can see from the CCTV, they failed miserably. They managed to cause some damage, but they weren’t driving away with this Range Rover!

😳 Imagine waking up to find your car has disappeared from your own driveway.

🥷 In a story reported by BBC News thieves spent around 40 minutes using a drill and jigsaw to cut into a Lexus RX in Solihull. They drilled through the boot to access the car’s electrical systems before driving it away, all while the owner slept upstairs. The car still hasn’t been recovered.

💔 We really feel for the owner. It’s awful to think someone can go to sleep with their car parked outside their home and wake up to find it’s gone, especially knowing it still hasn’t been found.

🔒 It’s a reminder that thieves are going to extreme lengths to steal vehicles, so adding another layer of security is worth considering. A CP24 helps protect against this by preventing the engine from starting without the correct PIN, even if thieves manage to get into the car.

😭 When you think you’re joining the motorway and someone suddenly decides they fancy your lane too.

👋 Our customer had to brake a little, but fair play to the Kia EV6 driver, they flashed their hazards to say sorry and sped up once they were in front. Everyone makes mistakes, it’s part of driving! You can usually tell when someone’s done something on purpose and when it’s just an honest mistake. We reckon this was just one of those moments, so no hard feelings.

🔐 They came prepared, just not for the CP24 😂

🥷 Two thieves targeted this Mercedes C250 at the weekend using a cloned key, but they couldn’t get the car started.

👊 The CP24 was fitted by our approved installer Face Lift Autos as part of his assessment to become a CAN-PHANTOM installer. It was actually the first CP24 he’d ever fitted, using his assessment unit on his Mrs’ car.

😂 You can see how confident they were that they were getting the car. The thief didn’t even bother wearing gloves at first. Then, once he realised the Merc wasn’t going anywhere, the gloves came out.

⚠️ A Range Rover can be targeted in ways you probably wouldn’t expect.

🔐 Thieves have been known to cut or drill a small hole into the bodywork, often around the boot lid or panel, to get direct access to the wiring loom underneath. From there, they can target the CAN Bus and other electronic systems, including keyless entry and telematics. This means they may be able to get around parts of the car’s security without even having the actual key fob.

✅ With a CP24 fitted, there’s still one thing standing between them and the car moving: your personal PIN code. We’ve fitted CAN-PHANTOM to loads of vehicles, and none of the vehicles in our customer database have been stolen.

🚶‍♂️ With the new Walk-up unlock feature, you can actually choose how close you want to be to your car before your CP24 recognises your phone and disarms.

Simply calibrate the range through the CAN-PHANTOM app and set it to suit you. Want it to work when you’re right next to the car? You can. Prefer it to kick in a little sooner as you’re walking up? You can do that too.

🚗 Once you’re within the range you’ve set with your phone unlocked, your CP24 can recognise your paired phone and automatically disarm, ready for you to get in and go.

🔒 And don’t worry, it’s designed for when you’re actually approaching your car, not when you’re miles away.

🔓 Using your CP24 just got a lot easier. With the new Walk-up unlock feature, your CP24 can recognise your phone as you walk up to your car and automatically disarm, ready for you to start up and go. No opening the app every time, no PIN to enter on the steering wheel and no extra fob to carry around. Just make sure your phone is unlocked and have it with you.

📱 You can even set how close you need to be to your car before it works. So you can adjust the range to suit you and don’t worry, it’s not going to disarm your car from the other side of the car park. Your CP24 is still doing its job and keeping your car protected, we’ve just made it quicker and easier to use day to day.

🔺 Walk-up unlock is only available on the CP24 model and you may need a firmware upgrade for it to work. If you’re not sure, just get in touch with your CAN-PHANTOM installer.
