We’re changing the way we make our hammers… well, sort of. ☀️🔨

We can now say that our hammers are being made using machines powered by the sun and, more importantly, by a renewable source of energy.

While some parts of our hammer-making process are still carried out by hand, the machines that support the skilled craftsmen and craftswomen in our factory are now being powered by the solar panels on our roof.

It’s a big step forward for Thor Hammer, helping us become more environmentally conscious while continuing to do what we’ve been doing for over 100 years: making hammers and mallets right here in Britain.

And there’s another important benefit. Generating our own renewable energy helps us keep our operating costs lower, helping us remain competitive and keep manufacturing here in Britain for generations to come.

The hands are still making the hammers. Now, the sun is helping power the machines. ☀️

🚨 URGENT: This isn’t our usual post, but we really need help. 🚨

We have a bit of an emergency at the Thor Hammer factory on Highlands Road in Shirley. A baby wagtail has been trapped inside our factory roof for 48 hours. Its poor mum has been flying around outside, completely distressed trying to reach it.

We’ve tried everything we can on-site and have reached out to the RSPCA, local vets, and rescues, but we haven't been able to get a specialist out to reach it yet. Because of the height and roof structure, we urgently need experienced wildlife rescuers or someone who can safely get the chick down.
