There's a lot that goes into getting milk from the farm to the supermarket, and some of the most important parts of the process are easy to overlook.

We might think about the cows, the parlour or the silos, but what about everything that happens once the milk leaves the farm? At the dairy processing plant, hoses are quietly handling the transfer and process duties that turn milk into the products on the shelf.

It's demanding work.

These hoses are coupled and uncoupled shift after shift, flexed and dragged across hard flooring, run over by HGVs and forklifts, cycled through aggressive CIP regimes, and left in constant contact with fats and oils — all while holding up to wide temperature swings.

So, when one fails, the cost is rarely just downtime. There's product to lose, cleaning cycles to repeat, and real hygiene, safety, and contamination risks to manage.

Our latest blog takes a closer look at what dairy processing hoses are really up against, and why equipment engineered specifically for the duty makes such a difference. It's not the most obvious part of dairy production — but it's one worth getting right.

His Majesty The King has officially opened the new Stannergill Distillery at the old Castletown Mill in Scotland, marking a very special occasion for Martin Murray and the team at Dunnet Bay Distillers.

While everyone else was looking at the King, we couldn't help noticing something familiar photobombing the picture… a SpiritFlex hose in use, captured brilliantly by photographer John Baikie!

It's moments like this that remind us why we do what we do: creating and supplying reliable, high-performance hose solutions to the industries we're proud to be part of.

We'll raise a glass to that. Congratulations to Martin and the entire Dunnet Bay Distillers team!

Order picking sounds simple enough, but there's far more to it than pulling a component off a shelf.

Every order that leaves our warehouse has a process behind it: verifying the specification and quantities, selecting the correct hose, confirming the right fittings and couplings, then gathering, packing and preparing everything for assembly and dispatch.

Every stage matters because a single incorrect item can create delays and hold up everything downstream for our customers. We endeavour to make sure each order leaves complete and correct.

That's why our warehouse team takes pride in getting it right. Accurate picking isn't about speed — it's about experience, attention to detail, and the discipline to check every order thoroughly. It's how we keep you flowing.

Is your brewery hose helping or hindering your production process? 🍺

When it comes to brewing, consistency is everything. The quality of your ingredients rightly takes centre stage — but one component is frequently overlooked: the brewery hose 🔍

The right hose helps maintain product quality, supports hygiene standards, and keeps production moving efficiently. The wrong one can lead to unnecessary downtime, increased maintenance, and quality issues that are hard to trace ⚠️

Could your brewery hose be the weak link that's quietly costing you? 💡

In our latest blog, we explore why choosing the right brewery hose matters — and what brewers should weigh up when investing in a reliable transfer solution. Link in the comments 👇

After all, a hose is just a hose — right?

Celebrity and independent drinks brands are booming, and they're changing how spirits get made 🥃

Take Ricky Gervais' Dutch Barn Vodka, distilled in-house at its own Yorkshire distillery. Celebrity-backed brands often have the funding to build from scratch.

But they're only part of the picture. A wave of independent, self-funded brands, from canned-cocktail makers like MOTH to countless new spirits labels, are reaching shelves through contract distillers and white-label production instead. For those distilleries, that means more recipes, more clients, and more changeovers to manage 🏭

Maintaining quality, hygiene, efficiency, and safety has never mattered more. That's where the right distillery hose makes a real difference 🔧

Our latest blog in the comments explores why flexible production is driving demand for specialist distillery hoses, and what distillers should weigh up when choosing one 👇

If you visit Flextech, one of the teams you'll find hard at work is our hose assembly team 👋

Their job is to make sure every hose assembly leaves our production facility performing exactly as it should ✅

Across the industries we serve — from spirits, foodstuffs & beverages, to chemicals, gases & fuels, and other critical media conveyed under pressure — there's no room for shortcuts. Every end connection, seal, and hose assembly is rigorously checked against our QMS standards for quality, performance, and safety 🔬

It's skilled, exacting work that often goes unseen — but it's one of the reasons our customers rely on us, time and time again, for the hose assemblies we design, manufacture and supply 🏭

Pour decisions start at kickoff...⚽🍺

During the World Cup, every detail matters — from the first whistle to the final pint. With England vs Croatia kicking off tonight at 9pm, there’s no better time to ensure your b**r flows perfectly 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Behind every great brew is a team of components working in harmony. The hose may be humble, but it plays a vital role: preserving flavour, maintaining hygiene, and delivering a smooth, consistent transfer from tank to tap. The right hose assembly ensures every sip tastes exactly as the brewer intended 🏆

That’s why our Brewflex® hoses are engineered for brewers who demand reliability under pressure. They keep the b**r performing at its best when it matters most — just like the players on the pitch 🏟️

We're featured in the April 2026 issue of Electrical Engineering Magazine! 📰

Our MD Martin Robinson has written a piece on hose installation best practice in electrical environments — covering everything from correct fitting selection and safe installation procedures, to post-installation testing and ongoing maintenance.

It's a topic that's often underestimated, but in industries like power generation, data centres and advanced manufacturing, getting it wrong can lead to overheating, equipment failure, and serious safety risks.
