This week, Affinity was proud to be represented at the RAFA Wexford Garden Party by Sheila, who joined veterans, supporters and members of the Royal Air Forces Association.

As a long-standing supporter of RAF Association, Affinity values opportunities to connect with the wider RAF community and recognise the vital support the Association provides to serving personnel, veterans and their families.

Having previously welcomed RAFA veterans to visit our site and supported outreach initiatives, this event provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen existing relationships, hear personal experiences and continue supporting the communities we are proud to serve. 💙✈️

Affinity has recently made a further donation of surplus survival equipment and clothing to Loyal Wingman, an aviation-led initiative supporting Ukrainian pilots operating in challenging conditions.

Working closely with our AEA team, additional specialist equipment was identified that could be repurposed and put to practical use, ensuring valuable aviation kit continues to support those who need it most. This latest donation includes flying suits, boots and smoke hoods, which will be sent directly to Ukrainian pilots and aircrew.

The initiative focuses on providing essential equipment directly to Ukrainian aircrew and personnel, helping to deliver practical support where it can make a meaningful difference.

We are pleased to continue supporting this effort and would like to thank everyone involved in helping make this donation possible.

Yesterday, Affinity attended the National Air and Space Camp Industry Day, where we had the opportunity to meet and speak with Air Cadets from across the UK about careers in aviation.

Throughout the day, our team shared insights into the work we do, the role we play in delivering military flying training, and the wide range of career opportunities available across our business.

Supporting events like these is important to Affinity as they help inspire the next generation of aviation and aerospace professionals. By engaging with young people and sharing real career experiences, we can help them explore the many pathways available within the industry.

The is in full swing! ✈️🚀

This week, we welcomed a group of Air Cadets to Affinity for a behind-the-scenes look at what we do and the role we play in delivering military flying training.

During their visit, the cadets explored our hangar, got up close to our aircraft, met members of our Operations and Aircraft Engineering & Airworthiness (AEA) teams, and learned about the wide range of careers available within the aviation industry. They also had the opportunity to take part in a command task, putting their teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills to the test.

The visit concluded with a careers discussion and Q&A session, giving the cadets the chance to hear directly from our colleagues about their career journeys and ask questions about working in aviation.

We're passionate about supporting young people as they explore future opportunities, and we hope the visit provided an insight into the exciting and rewarding world of aviation.

Ame, our AEA Administrator, has been recognised for her professionalism, dedication and the positive impact she makes across the team and wider business. Whether supporting colleagues, improving processes or promoting wellbeing as a Mental Health Champion, she consistently goes above and beyond in everything she does.

Through Affinity's Department Shadowing Programme, employees have the opportunity to spend time with colleagues in different areas of the business, broadening their knowledge, building new connections and gaining a better understanding of how we work together. The programme is designed to support personal and professional development through hands-on learning and observation.

Recently, Sarah, Personal Assistant to our Executive Team, took part in the programme by joining the Operations team on the flight line, gaining a fresh perspective on a different part of the business and developing her understanding of the wider organisation.

“Shadowing the ground ops team taught me there are many aspects to consider when getting aircraft ready for flying safely. There are many plates the team need to spin at the same time and communication is crucial." - Sarah

✈️ Last week, we were proud to be part of RAF Valley Families Day.

It was a fantastic opportunity to meet station personnel, families and friends, and celebrate the people behind the mission. Throughout the day, we had the opportunity to share more about what we do, meet families and provide an insight into the people and expertise that support military flying training behind the scenes.

A huge thank you to RAF Valley for hosting such a fantastic event, and to everyone who stopped by the Affinity stand for a chat. We were proud to be part of a day that recognised the vital support networks behind our people and brought the wider station community together. ✈️

And a special thank you to our team who volunteered their time to represent Affinity throughout the day.
