Ermysted's Old Boys' Society Old Boys' Society for Ermysted's Grammar School, Skipton. Registered Charity Number 1203733. The Old Boys are proud of the school.

Ermysted’s Grammar School’s long history, coupled with the loyalty it inspires amongst its pupils both past and present, means we have an extremely active Old Boys' Society. We take a keen interest in the progress of the school and also contribute financially through fundraising to support the school’s development – for example helping with the cost of new buildings, refurbishment and the purchase

of equipment. We enjoy hearing of its academic successes, its sporting and musical achievement, its drama activities and its rich variety of trips and foreign excursions. Our experiences and reminiscences help to draw a picture of a school that has developed throughout the 20th Century into one of the UK’s top grammar schools. The varied achievements of Old Boys of the school throughout history highlight the fine teaching and strong discipline that inspired boys to succeed.

Congratulations to our 1996 Head Boy John Wrathmell who's started a new job this week at No 10 North working with the new prime minister! Who spotted him on the lunchtime news today shaking hands with Andy Burnham?

**Please spare a couple of minutes of your time to help us get some FREE MONEY for Ermysted's!**

If you download the 'Easyfundraising' smartphone app and become a supporter of Ermysted's Friends' Association, the school gets £3 straight away just by you downloading the free app!

If 30 of you do this by 17th July we also hit a target that gives us an extra £150 bonus payment for the charity. So that's £240 of free money, just for a couple of minutes of your time!

You don't have to then use the Easyfundraising app - but if you do, then it will raise even more money for our school using the affiliate links for things you might purchase online anyway!

We're really sorry to advise that tonight's Summer Celebration has been postponed.

With temperatures on stage and in Memorial Hall exceeding 30 degrees, Mr Evans has made the executive decision to cancel the event this evening and reschedule.

All those with tickets should have received notification via our ticketing system TryBooking.
If you were hoping to turn up at the door, or know anyone else who was going to attend without a ticket, please can you pass on the message.

We are really sad to share the news that Mrs Gracie has passed away at the age of 100.

It was a delight to welcome her back to Ermysted’s last autumn to celebrate her milestone birthday and hear stories from her many years working at our school between 1969 and 1991. She was much loved by pupils and colleagues, and was integral to the running of the school over a sustained period of time.

Our thoughts are with Eileen’s family and friends at this sad time. Rest In Peace, Mrs Gracie 🤍

A celebration of Eileen’s long life will take place at the Baptist Church, Skipton on Tuesday 19th May at 1pm, followed by private interment.
