Two units recently manufactured at our Workington factory.

The larger unit is a precast lift shaft, complete with smoke pit and cupboard, all cast as one 13.5-tonne unit.

Alongside it is a smaller precast smoke shaft, manufactured as a single-piece unit for smoke ventilation within the building, helping to simplify installation on site.

WE ARE HIRING – STAIRS CHARGEHAND (WORKINGTON)

We have a vacancy for an experienced manager to lead our busy Precast Stairs department on our Workington site. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership skills, a commitment to health and safety, and the ability to drive performance while maintaining high quality standards.

The successful candidate will manage and motivate a team of operatives to ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead, support and develop a production team to achieve daily output targets.
• Ensure all products are manufactured to the required quality standards.
• Monitor productivity and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Maintain a strong health and safety culture.
• Ensure machinery, equipment and tools are used and maintained in accordance with training and safe operating procedures.
• Provide coaching, feedback and performance management to team members.
• Work closely with with Production managers to plan and organise workloads to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
• Liaise with senior management to report on production performance and operational issues.
• Promote teamwork, accountability and a positive working environment.

Essential Requirements
• Previous management or supervisory experience within a manufacturing, production or woodworking environment.
• Experience measuring and using woodworking tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Physically fit and capable of working within a demanding production environment.
• Commitment to producing high-quality work whilst maintaining safe working practices.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to respond positively to feedback and adapt to changing priorities.
• Reliable transport to and from our Workington site.

Additional Information
• £17 per hour x1.5 after 45 hours.
• 6am to 4pm Mon - Fri (47.5hrs per week)

WE ARE HIRING – PRODUCTION OPERATIVES (SILLOTH & WORKINGTON)

Due to continuous growth, we are looking to expand our Silloth and Workington teams to keep up with customer demand.

▪ New rate of £14.42 per hour with overtime rate after 45 hours!
▪ Progression opportunities for candidates with the right attitude.

Duties include:
▪ Working as part of a team to meet daily production targets;
▪ Thoroughly cleaning beds in preparation for the next pour;
▪ Setting up beds accurately to ensure high quality products to customer
specifications;
▪ Cleaning aisles and ends of concrete beds to ensure a safe working environment;
▪ Using and maintaining machinery and tools in accordance with training and safe operating procedures to ensure highest standards of safety are maintained at all times;
▪ Being responsible for your own health and safety and that of others at all times.

Requirements:
▪ This is a physically demanding position, therefore candidates should be physically fit;
▪ Strong focus on delivering quality products safely;
▪ A commitment to working as a team to meet daily production targets;
▪ Must have confirmation of reliable transport to our Silloth and Workington sites;
▪ Must be reactive to feedback and receptive to change;
▪ Forklift experience is advantageous although in house training and certification will be arranged.

Successful candidates will be subject to a three month trial period to assess performance and reliability.

AFC Bournemouth – Project Update ⚽️

The South East Corner and North West Corner are now almost complete, with the new stands really starting to take shape.

We’ll then be moving on to the new South Stand, with work scheduled to begin in November 2026.

We’re proud to be continuing to supply the terrace units and vomitory walls throughout the project and look forward to sharing more progress as the development continues.
