Just been watching Panorama. Tonight an investigation about courier Evri. As WMT Bearings I send out parcels and packets on a daily basis and as wmtbgbltd I send out parcels/packets to my Ebay customers. To do this I mainly use Royal Mail/Royal Mail Parcels and FedEx. It would be too easy to use Evri but the quality of service just isnt there. Be assured that WMT Bearings customers will never be delivered to by EVRI.

From time to time I get requests from local garages to supply gearbox bearings for various automotive applications and, invariably I am able to do this ably assisted by specialist companies.

I was recently approached by a repeat customer who wanted a set of bearings to suit a 1953 vintage Citroen Big 6. The customer brought a box of the bearings, seals and speedi sleeves that he needed to rebuild the gearbox on this machine. And therein lies a story. I spent over two weeks trying to source everything needed. I liaised with the previously mentioned specialist companies who couldnt help. I then contacted European sources who were able to supply what was needed albeit at a price. Try as I might I wasnt able to find alternative sources for the European bearings and had to admit defeat. I supplied what I could (FAG bearings) and passed on names of European companies and their addresse together with contact info.

Mr Trump has changed the rules for despatching goods to the USA , so it was a bit of a shock to go to the Post Office today and to be asked to pay USA import duty up front along with Royal Mail Admin fees. Bearing in mind that the seal sold for 8GBP plus postage I then had to pay additional fees of £5.39 which I am not going to be able to recoup. So as a result i went straight onto a famous ecommerce site and told them that I was going to refuse to take any orders from any USA address with immediate effect. I will continue to sell to Canada. I will also continue to sell to USA customers on my website but on the basis that the additional costs that I will face be passed onto the customer prior to the despatch of the goods something that I cannot do on Eb**.
