Saturday Morning visit from Bradley and his partner to pick up a auto bonnet for his MI16 swapped 205. Little bit of imagination to get it fitted safely and they are on there way.

We’ve been out rummaging again today and come back with a full luton van load of genuine Peugeot and Citroen N.O.S.

Busy morning today sending off three shells to the other side of the UK.

Lots of moving parts that all needed to align to make things work seamlessly for our customer.

Shells have been very popular over the last 12 months with double figures leaving us for re-shells or for cuts.

6.45 meet up in a poorly lit services to meet a dodgy looking man in a van …..

Luckily that man is Ian of Retro, Race & Rally who is now the proud owner of a totally immaculate Peugeot 205 lower glovebox surround.

The time has come to move on an exceptional shell we have been keeping for a project.

It’s been sat in the corner of the unit for the last 18 months and if you’ve paid us visit , you will have no doubt of had a nosey.

J Reg 3 Door Auto Shell - 35,000 Miles

This shell has never been welded and as far as we can see, does not need any. Some small areas of paint flake but all still solid. I think the pictures speak for themselves and we have plenty more to share with any potential buyer .

Shell will come as photoed apart from the windscreen but will include the original non leaking sunroof.

This is a absolute fantastic base to build something special.

Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI Phase 1 Project.

We are offering this early phase 1 Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI for sale on behalf of our customer who is based overseas.

Was purchased last year as a project but will be some time before they will be able to get to the car to begin work so offering it back to the market.

Photos speak a thousand words so please take a good detailed look at all of the photos and have a good read through of the description before getting in touch.

Exterior -

Paintwork still has a lovely deep shine. All original panels and no previous rust repairs. Vacuum sunroof with wind deflector and all trims present. Very solid shell with boot floor, under seats, inner wings and front panel while looking scabby are all solid. Will need repair to rear sills and lower 3/4 panels. Some rust starting to show above windscreen and around some edges. Various trim has cracks, marks and scruffs as to be expected with a car of this age and appears to have had a very light knock on the front corner. Rear boot will need replacing and a phase 1.5 boot is included in the sale. A small amount of lacquer peel on the centre of the bonnet and centre of the roof.

Interior -

Lovely clean looking interior that is all there. Carpet is still a lovely shade of red and door cards are straight and true. Uncut parcel shelf , all trims and switch’s are as they should be. Seats have withstood time well although have been switched around for some reason. The main point to mention is the glovebox surround and lid has been damaged by a previous owner. The remains comes with the car. A very good original interior.

Engine / Running gear -

The engine has not been run and came to us with the starter motor removed ( a new one is included in the sale ). Running gear will need a going through and the rear beam will need refurbishment or replacement. Engine is complete with all inlet hoses, air box, afm, brackets and still has the jack in situ in the bay.

It’s worth mentioning that on its last M.O.T it had a advisory for a engine knock. The car has not covered a single mile since this. May be something very minor but worth mentioning.

Included in the sale but not shown is the remains of the glovebox surround and lid , the spare 1.9 GTI alloy, a phase 1.5 boot, a pair of gas boot struts, the rear slatted boot panel and a new starter motor.

The car comes with its original book pack and service book stamped Upto 70,000. A very early 1.9 GTI that is extremely original and well worth the time to get it back to where it should be.
