For over 30 years we have been providing sales, hire, design, manufacture, installation, testing and certification of lifting and rigging gear, material handling and height safety equipment and accessories. Founded in 1994 and becoming a Private Limited Company in 1995, the business was originally named ‘Selby Engineering & Lifting Services’ known locally and recognised as ‘SELS’ due to the logo.
The company was set up as a local lifting equipment service, supply and hire provider, with our main custom coming from the Selby Coal Field industry. Word of mouth spread about the quality of service we provided and with an ever expanding reputation, business spread across the area and we began to provide services across all kinds of industries - Power Stations, Manufacturing / Fabrication, Food Industry, Glass Production, Rail & Civil Engineering and Chemical and Water Industries to name only a few. With the emergence of the world wide web in the late 1990’s and technology and means of communication forever advancing we were one of the first in our sector to launch a website... that meant we could expand our business to areas / countries that would have previously been difficult. Lifting Safety Banner In August 2005 we launched www.liftingsafety.co.uk and in July 2006 we ’re-branded’ and changed our registered name to ‘Selby Engineering & Lifting Safety Ltd’, now know locally and worldwide as ‘LiftingSafety’. Today we’re proud agents/distributors for many of the biggest brands within our field, provide services across the whole of the UK and export Lifting, Rigging, Material Handling and Height Safety equipment globally on a daily basis to all corners of the world.
