Here at Go-EPT, we paid our deep respects in our own individual ways for day yesterday, and will do so again at the 11th hour of the 11th day, of the 11th month, tomorrow.

Personally, the weekend was spent remembering all of the brave men, women, and animals who gave their today for our tomorrow.

My 13 year old son is a goalkeeper for two football teams, and the respect shown by both teams on Saturday and Sunday was very humbling.
It really touches me that this respect for those who gave so much for us, is being passed down generation after generation.
We must never forget, not ever.

I have personal connections to 617 Sqn, 'The Dambusters'.
Each May and November, I attend the reunions at The Petwood Hotel, Woodhall Spa.
This beautiful hotel, set in the Lincolnshire Fens, was the wartime home of this most famous of squadrons.

My dad was an historian for The Dambusters, and because of that, I have had the honour of meeting so many of the original crew, many becoming family friends.
I was also so proud to be able to introduce my son to the few remaining, over 13 years ago.
I am sad that these brave men are no longer with us, but their memory will live on because of the bi-annual reunions in Woodhall Spa every year, which are organised by RAF 617 Sqn.

I consider myself extremely lucky to have been able to call these men my friends, and I shall continue to honour and remember them, and ensure their memory lives on for as long as I live.

Yesterday was particularly hard, as it was the 20th anniversary of losing my amazing dad. But the legacy he left behind will also live on through myself, my sister, and our children.
