🔧 CASE STUDY: Blast Room Upgrade

When an existing customer approached us about excessive noise from their blast room affecting the wider factory environment, the solution needed to go beyond simply replacing the existing equipment.

Our Projects & Service Manager, Matt Stones, visited site to assess the existing installation before designing and planning a new blast room around the customer's specific requirements.

The completed project included:

🔹 Upgraded 100mm thick wall panels
🔹 Redesigned ducting to help minimise noise transmission
🔹 Externally ducted air intakes with silencers
🔹 Electric shutter door
🔹 New blast pot with level sensors
🔹 LED lighting and upgraded safety systems
🔹 New control panel and remote HMI

The on site installation and commissioning was led by our highly experienced engineer, Will Walsham, with the new panel and control system completed by Orion Technical Engineering Services.

The result is a significantly upgraded blast room designed to reduce the impact of blasting noise on the surrounding factory while improving operator safety, usability and monitoring.

A great example of what goes into delivering a complete solution, from initial site assessment and design through to installation and commissioning.

🔧 Another upgrade for a returning customer

Following the successful supply of 10 GN High Performance Long Life blast wheels, we’ve now supplied the same customer with 10 No-Grip abrasive valves to further upgrade their shot blasting equipment.

The No-Grip valve is designed to provide reliable and controlled abrasive feed to the blast wheels, incorporating two separate functions – one to regulate the abrasive flow and another to fully open or shut the supply.

Key benefits include:

🚛 Refurbished, Despatched & On Its Way to a New Home

Following on from our recent refurbishment updates, this table shot blasting machine has now left our Sheffield workshop and been delivered to its new owner.

After undergoing a comprehensive refurbishment, including a new tuning kit on the blast wheel, new table structure, new elevator belt and buckets, various repairs and replacements, successful run-up and testing, and final paintwork, the machine was loaded and secured ready for transport.

Our service manager has been on site yesterday and today carrying out the installation and getting the machine into position.

For customers looking to invest in shot blasting equipment, a professionally refurbished machine can provide a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new equipment.

🎨 The Finishing Touches

Our latest table shot blasting machine refurbishment is another step closer to completion, with the machine now being prepared and painted in our Sheffield workshop.

Following the mechanical refurbishment, which included a new tuning kit on the blast wheel, a new table structure, new elevator belt and buckets, along with various repairs and replacements, attention has now turned to the finishing stages.

Following successful run-up and testing, the machine is now receiving its final coat of paint before the refurbishment is complete.

Refurbishing existing shot blasting equipment can provide a cost-effective way to extend machine life, restore performance and reliability, and avoid the need for complete replacement where the existing equipment remains suitable.
