Our range of workshop supplies to the HGV and Bus and Coach (PSV) sectors is continually growing and offers specialist tools and testing equipment for demanding environments.

We are a major UK distributor for Bowmonk Limited BrakeCheck portable brake testers that measure both braking efficiency and imbalance in all vehicle types which are used by government transport departments, MOT Test Stations and workshops around the world.

The Bowmonk BrakeCheck is approved by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) for brake testing all classes of vehicle in the MOT Test and also for conducting the voluntary brake tests in the HGV, Bus and Coach sector, as required as part of interim safety inspections every 3 months.

Several models of the portable Bowmonk Brake Tester are available with varying capabilities including; wireless printing, secondary brake testing, GPS coordinates for test location and storage of up to 99 brake test results.

For HGV ATF (Authorised Testing Facility) MOT stations we supply all the DVSA required ATF signs and specialist tools such as Long Reach Feeler Gauges to assess king pin wear and the DVSA approved Commercial Tyre Inspection Tool. Other specialist products for the HGV workshop include the Brake Airline Valve Lift Gauge, Trailer Brake Line Tester, Secondary Brake Line Adapter and Palm Couplings.

New Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) 'Photos at Test' Feature Now Rolling Out

The DVSA has introduced a new feature to the MOT testing process, allowing testers to take and upload a photo of the vehicle during its MOT inspection. The initiative is being rolled out across around 2,500 garages in Great Britain as part of the first phase.

Why does it matter?
✅ Helps deter fraudulent "ghost MOTs"
✅ Confirms the vehicle was present at the time of testing
✅ Supports vehicle identity verification
✅ Increases confidence in the MOT process
✅ Contributes to improved road safety

At this stage, uploading photos is optional for participating garages, but the move represents a positive step towards greater transparency and accountability across the automotive industry.
