🌟 At Penny Engineering we're continuing to invest in the future of our workforce by supporting our line managers through professional development opportunities, designed to strengthen leadership skills and build long-term capability across the business! 🌟

Following the success of last year’s ILM Level 2 Award in Leadership and Team Skills, delivered by Challenge Consulting in Nottingham, we've now supported two long-serving managers to complete the programme:

Kenny, Chargehand in Vehicle Mounted Equipment-Swinglift and John, Goods Lifts Production Manager, who between them have over 50 years of service!

The training introduced fresh management approaches, encouraged reflection on existing practices and provided practical ideas that could be applied immediately in the workplace.

By continuing to invest in our people, we're strengthening communication, supporting employee engagement and ensuring the business is well placed to meet the demands of a changing workplace.

🥾 A mighty fine day was had at the Ashgate Hospice High Peak Trail Walk, in the the beautiful Derbyshire hills.

The Penny Team (its 16 walkers plus two dogs) did themselves and the team proud!

There was great camaraderie on the day, boosted by donations totalling over £700 and words of support from fellow colleagues, family and friends - thank you to you all!

There were over 700 walkers in total (their largest turnout yet!), raising an incredible £124,000 for this important cause.

There is already much talk about the next event...

As an employee-owned business, looking out for each other is what we do 🤝

Congratulations to Claire Booth (our Vehicle Mounted Equipment Operations Manager) for completing her Mental Health First Aider course, making her a valuable addition to our MHFA Team.

Mental illness is profound as it manifests in many guises and affects us all whether directly or in those around us; it should never be trivialised or ignored.

Just knowing that there is someone to approach, in confidence, to talk to, can lighten and brighten a person’s outlook.

Thanks to Claire, Simon Pykett (General Manager for Nuclear) and Kyle Dickens (Welder and Fabricator at Sidetracker Engineering), for volunteering to become our MHFAs and to everyone at Penny Engineering, who continue to support initiatives that increase the awareness of Mental Health in the workplace.

Our business is only as strong as its workforce and these are steps towards shaping an all-round healthy workplace for all.

🏉🎉 We enjoyed a double celebration on Saturday, joining our marketing partners FWD Motion on their 21st birthday at Rotherham Titans Rugby Club's last match of the season against Sale.

A superb win for the Titans put them at the top of the league, earning a return to the Championship!

It was great to share the day with Rotherham Hospice and we raised £1000 to help with their invaluable efforts supporting the local community.

Well done to the Titans and FWD Motion!

🥊 On Saturday, after 8 weeks of hard training, our very own Andrew Harper and Peter Blood went head to head in the WBC Ultra White Collar boxing event!

🌟 They raised an incredible £1400 for Cancer Research UK and Mental Health UK and over £10,000 was raised in total on the night.

👏 Well done lads!
