🚑 Training underway with SECAmb

Since June, we’ve been delivering training to South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAmb) educators, OTLs and Critical Care Paramedics on their new corpuls3T (C3T) devices.

It’s been fantastic to see such a high level of engagement throughout the sessions, with crews getting hands-on with the technology and building their confidence in using the new devices.

A big thank you to all SECAmb personnel who have taken part so far, played a part in organising the sessions, or are carrying out familiarisation training in-house. Your enthusiasm, questions and commitment to getting the most from your corpuls3 devices have made the training a real success.

We’re looking forward to continuing the rollout and supporting SECAmb as they introduce the corpuls3T across their teams.

Great equipment is only part of the solution — great training makes the difference.

In cardiac arrest, survival is only half the story.

Whether someone walks out of hospital neurologically intact is the endpoint that increasingly defines success — and it's the one the SYMEVECA phase 2 study set out to measure across three ventilation methods.

The result was a trend in favour of Chest Compression Synchronised Ventilation: favourable neurological outcome (CPC 1–2) was recorded in 16% of patients ventilated with CCSV, compared to 12.4% with IPPV and 9.4% with bag-valve-mask ventilation in non-traumatic OHCA. The difference didn't reach statistical significance (p = 0.19) — but the direction is consistent with a growing body of CCSV evidence.

CCSV is an available mode on MEDUMAT Standard², already in use by over 150 emergency organisations and hospitals.

No weight limit. Chest height 14–34 cm. Approved for children aged 8 and over, bariatric patients, and pregnant patients.

A mechanical CPR device that excludes patient groups can't be relied upon when it matters. The corpuls cpr is approved for the full range of patients you'll encounter. One device, every patient.

A good behind-the-scenes look at Yorkshire Air Ambulance's Rapid Response Vehicles, and the kit that goes out on them.

Three we know well:

corpuls3, the modular monitor/defibrillator that separates into monitor, patient box and defibrillator/pacer while staying wirelessly connected across the rescue chain.

corpuls cpr, mechanical chest compression designed to hold a consistent depth and rate and keep hands-off time short.

WEINMANN ACCUVAC PRO, portable suction for fast, effective airway clearance.

Equipment like this earns its place by what it does when it counts.

Over the past few days, we’ve been delighted to host two ECG training events in Scotland at The University of The West of Scotland and Queen Margaret University, welcoming a fantastic group of 200+ clinicians, students and healthcare professionals.

These sessions, presented by Mark Whitbread focused on practical ECG interpretation, real-world scenarios, and supporting confident clinical decision making in high-pressure environments. It was brilliant to see such strong engagement, insightful discussion, and knowledge-sharing across both locations.

🔴 "Just overall a fantastic session, extremely engaging speaker, handouts added so much to the presentation. Teaching style was so easy to follow, wish all our courses were taught like this!"

🔴 "Excellent session, thoroughly enjoyed was a very educational session and feel significantly more confident in reading ECG's and being aware of misinterpreting what appears normal at first glance! Very experienced guy!"

🔴 "Fantastic presentation expertly delivered. I have attended this session 2 years prior and still found it to be a very relevant refresher"

🔴 "This should be taught everywhere for paramedics. It was so good and I learned a lot ! It was explained in ways that were easier to understand"

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such interactive, high-quality sessions. We’re proud to support ongoing education and skill development across the region.

Effective ventilation during CPR is hard to get right by hand. Rate, volume, and consistency all drift under pressure, and there's rarely a way to see it happening in the moment.

EOlife changes that by giving rescuers live feedback on EVERY breath. With ventilation rate and tidal volume show clearly as they resuscitate, delivery stays on target instead of down to guesswork.

The impact is starting to show in the research. A recent thesis found that using EOlife during BLS CPR was associated with a threefold rise in 30-day survival with favourable neurological outcomes — from 3.39% to 10.42%.

Many pre-hospital monitors require the monitoring unit to stay near the defibrillator. The corpuls3T does not.

The three modules — Monitoring Unit, Patient Box, and Defibrillator — separate completely and remain wirelessly connected up to 10 metres.

- The Patient Box stays with the patient.

- The Monitoring Unit stays with the clinician.

- The Defibrillator stays accessible.

One system. Three places at once.

great to see our kit in action!

The ATACC Group's SPEAR course is an intensive programme built around high-threat, high-pressure pre-hospital care, and a demanding test of the equipment used to deliver it.

Across a range of challenging scenarios, kit we supply, including corpuls3, corpuls cpr and Clarius ultrasound, is put to work in conditions where performance and reliability are non-negotiable.

Pictured are members of the NW Air Ambulance crew, among some of the delegates to get hands on.

Earlier this year, members of our crew took part in a Specialist Endovascular Advanced Resuscitator (SPEAR) training day with The ATACC Group, one of the most advanced cardiac arrest training courses available.

The training focuses on improving care for patients experiencing cardiac arrest, covering everything from high-quality CPR and advanced treatments to specialist equipment and critical care skills.

So far this year, our crew have attended over 800 medical incidents, including 333 cardiac arrests.

Keeping our team trained and equipped to provide the best possible care takes your support. Thank you for helping us be there when patients need us most 💙🚁

At 2.5 kg with up to 10 hours of battery, the MEDUMAT Standard² keeps pace wherever the frontline takes you. Light enough to move fast, tough enough to go the distance.

So you can keep moving, and keep your focus where it matters.

Hypothermia doesn't wait for the patient to reach hospital, so warming shouldn't either.

The Warrior is compact and portable, designed to warm blood and IV fluids at the point of care.

Begin warming on scene, and ensure the warmth carries through to the receiving team rather than restarting at the doors.

Hypothermia is one point of the trauma triad of death, alongside acidosis and coagulopathy. This is why keeping a bleeding patient warm is a resuscitation priority, not a comfort measure.
