Park Bins
Sadly, we have had a spate of fires being set in our bins around the park. It is unusual but every now and again we do get a little spate of damage.
The bins were designed to withstand a lot of abuse and have stood the test of time over the last 20 years or so but the latest fires have damaged a number of bins beyond safe repair and we have had to remove them.
We are looking at replacements and will get this done as quickly as we can but the new bins are expensive and we will only be able to afford a few at a time.
As always, we are incredibly grateful for the care and respect local people show for our Community Park and the local staff and volunteers who do such a great job of maintaining the space every day.
You can help us by continuing to keep the space tidy and by taking your rubbish home whenever possible.
In general, taking rubbish home would mean huge savings for our maintenance that could be spent on planting and mowing and upkeep. Last year alone, we removed the equivalent weight of 3 Transit Vans of rubbish, costing thousands of pounds of recycling, waste collection and staff hours…. Makes you think!
