The GW & GWi ranges pictured below start from M0.5 and come in 2.5xD to 4xD as standard as well as being produced in MF, S, SL, UNC, UNF & 'J' forms. Two different coatings and solid or through coolant mean we have thread mills to suit most enquiries. Great result for a new customer tapping M20 in Super Duplex!
Customer had previously subbed out the part but had to bring it back in house due to rising costs. Within a couple of hours of being asked for help we were on site with a 'Z' geometry tap suitable for the material group along with a synchro chuck & collet to make sure we give the tap the best chance of achieving its maximum performance and life
Within a few minutes we were producing perfect threads and left a happy customer running parts throughout the weekend.

The tool worked a treat and has saved a good amount of time on the operation from the old way of machining the back spot faces.

Another great success for some tools from the GW whirler range.

Our customer has a range of components with M2 & M2.5 threads. Some blind, some through and some that break through angled bottom faces. We could have gone for tapping options but the customer wanted a simplified solution that would work for everything with added security. By supplying a 4xD whirler they can now just have two tools that can run in all their main materials (EN24T, O1, D2 & M42) and produce deep, through and blind threads.

One happy customer!!
