West View Garage Ltd Formerly 'Michaels of Selby' which ceased trading in March 2015. Re-born as West View Garage Ltd, o Our joint passions are trackdays and motorsport.

We are a local garage with a 60 year history.
'Michaels' was the place to go for Reliant cars and spares. In its 70's & 80's heyday Michaels of Selby registered around 80 new Reliants every month! We have an accrued knowledge of the marque that is second to none. Since the demise of Reliant, 'Michaels' took on the Microcar agency to keep our loyal B1 customers on the road. We now service around 2

00 of our own local Microcar & Aixam customers and provide parts and advice nationally. West View Garage is committed to satisfying the needs of all Microcar, Aixam and Reliant owners. We openly acknowledge that we are servicing an ever ageing and declining market and our new owners Nick and Pete are expanding into newer fields. Nick has been involved with BMW since the 80's, providing on track experiences for customers and enthuisiasts at the highest level for over 20 years. Pete is into race car builds and always has a project or two on the go. Our joint experience lends itself perfectly to servicing the needs of the 'on track' driver either here in our workshop or by delivering the right parts first time.

But which is best..
Aixam or Microcar?
Both have their followers.
Both have their critics.
10 years have passed since these two were made and it’s getting harder and harder to find cars to sell that we are prepared to put our name to.
This could very well be the last time you see an opposing pair as nice as this for re-sale from the original supplying dealer.
If you want to buy the very best or have your current car maintained to the highest standard, you know where we are.

We see and get asked about this all the time.
The gearbox pulley rubbing on the gearbox.
It’s hard to explain on the phone exactly what to look for.
Usually when we get one in for repair the pulley has already exploded!
But have a look at this one that came in for some work doing.. the circlip retaining rebate has got fractions of a millimetre remaining before it pops.
Also see where the plastic wear tips have worn away to nothing and the exposed metal has been ground away.
This is a perfect example of what to look for when servicing your variator.
Compare the old one to the new one it is placed next to in the stores
