PVC-C is not recommended for compressed air. That is in our own handbook, and it still gets specified. Two things go wrong on compressed air lines.

💨The first is material. PVC-C handles hot corrosive liquids to 100°C. It is not recommended for compressed air or gases. Check before the line goes in.

💨The second is temperature. AGRUAIR in PE100 runs at 16 bar for 50 years at 20°C. At 40°C that becomes 12.5 bar for 50 years. At 50°C, 11.4 bar for 15 years. At 60°C, 9.8 bar for 5 years.

Fifty years down to five, across twenty degrees.

Compressor rooms run hot. If nobody has measured yours, the derating table is doing work you cannot see.

The day covers listings, standards and approvals, scope of use, routing, hangers and supports, expansion and contraction, set and cure times, testing on air and water, handling and storage, and CPVC compatibility.

You leave with a skill card carrying your photograph. We recommend renewal every two years.

A pipe clamp that grips too tightly is not a support. It is a stress point.

Thermoplastic pipe moves. It expands, it contracts, and the clamp decides whether it guides that movement or fights it.

Three details that get missed on site:

👉Threaded rod length. Mupro slide clamps skew if the rod runs long. Keep it to 80mm on sizes 16mm to 50mm, and 60mm on sizes 56mm to 110mm.
👉Anchor or guide. Remove the spacers from a Mupro slide clamp and it becomes an anchor point. Same clamp, opposite job. Decide before you fit it.
👉Load. A slide clamp at 16mm to 40mm has a tensile breaking strength of 2,400N and a maximum recommended load of 800N. That margin exists for a reason.

Support centres come from the pipe manufacturer, not from the clamp.
