I left employment, and I'm not where I thought I'd be.
I don't have a salary hitting my account every month.
I don't have a manager telling me what to do.
I don't have a team around me.
I don't have the job title I spent years building.
I don't have the safety net I used to take for granted.
I don't have a guaranteed pipeline.
I don't have colleagues to bounce ideas off at 9am.
I don't have certainty about next month, let alone next year.
And I walked away from all of it on purpose.
At Smith + Nephew, Reckitt and Adalvo, I thought I'd climb the ladder, get comfortable and call that success.
Instead, I started Mavenbridge Consulting by:
• asking questions before giving answers,
• building trust before winning work,
• and backing my own judgement when it would've been easier to stay put.
But here's what I've found on the other side:
I'm more honest about the value I deliver than I've ever been. I'm more selective about who I work with than I've ever been. And the businesses I work with get better results because of it.
That's what I do now.
I help SME owner-managers cut supplier costs and take back control of their commercial relationships - without the overhead of hiring someone full-time.
If that sounds like something your business needs, let's talk 🤝
