Harvest is nearly here — is your grain-handling kit ready?
In the June issue of Farm Contractor & Large Scale Farmer, Matt Tilt talks to our Scott McArthur about the checks that could save you serious headaches when the pressure is on.
From cleaning out plenum chambers and checking combustion heads, to inspecting chains, sprockets, auger flights and belts - Scott walks through everything you need to do before the season hits peak.
One tip that could save you a big bill: catch wear on individual auger flights early and replace them before you're forced to replace the whole auger.
And don't forget the basics - isolate the machine before any checks, have a lone-working plan in place, and make sure all guards go back on before you fire it up again.
