Our Generator Service Quotes Team Leader, Michelle Mawson, recently took on the Scarborough 10k Race for Life in support of Cancer Research UK!

Michelle also walked 165 km throughout March in support of Ovarian Cancer Action.

Dale Power Solutions is always happy to support students interested in exploring STEM careers through work experience. We see apprenticeships, work experience, and early careers are key to the future of our business.

Last week, we welcomed Joshua, a student from Carmel College in Darlington, who got to understand a range of departments across the business, including engineering, assembly line work, finance, health & safety, sales, marketing, and stores. Joshua also had the opportunity to visit both of our factories, learning about our Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and generator manufacturing operations.

Young engineers and apprentices have always played an important role in Dale’s story, bringing new, essential skillsets, and becoming the backbone of our business. Nicola Doody, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Project Manager at Dale, has completed an amazing challenge, running two marathons in just eight days, the Belfast City Marathon and the Rob Burrows Leeds Marathon, to fundraise for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).

At the end of last year, a close friend of Niki’s was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. In response, their family signed up to run the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon to raise awareness and funds. Niki decided to join them in addition to running the Belfast City Marathon.

A huge well done to Niki for such an amazing achievement and for supporting such an important cause.

Our Service Engineers Steve Purton, Gary Gregory, Ryan Brinkler, and Jamie Kearns recently completed the challenge of climbing Mount Snowdon in support of NHS Charities Together.

Covering approximately 9 miles via the Llanberis Path to the summit, the team took on the hike to raise funds and give something back following recent hospital stays for both Steve and Gary’s fathers, where they received outstanding care from NHS doctors and nurses.

A huge well done to the team for completing the challenge and supporting such an important cause.

The 8th of May marks Victory in Europe Day, commemorating the allied victory in Europe during the Second World War.

Eighty-one years later, we continue to remember the brave individuals who sacrificed so much to bring peace.

Founded in 1935, Dale Electric, later Dale Power Solutions, was founded by Leonard Dale, an asthmatic who remained in North Yorkshire during the war. Using his electrical engineering skills, Leonard converted buildings for wartime use and helped electrify farms to support food production.

Meet Paul Winship, Industrial UPS Sales & Applications Manager at Dale Power Solutions. Paul's careers spans over 30 years, having joined Erskine Systems in 1992 as a Technician Apprentice.

Over the years, he progressed into project management within the telecommunications sector, before moving into business development for service. Here he gained experience supporting international projects, including across Asia. Now Paul oversees the sales and technical applications for Erskine Industrial Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) across a range of key sectors.

Meet Hannah Magowan, Lead Engineer for Battery Storage & Renewables at Dale Power Solutions. Hannah joined the company at 16, after deciding sixth form wasn't the right fit for her, while being academically strong in maths, science and computer science.

Through an apprenticeship, Hannah gained hands-on experience across wiring, testing, electronics and software development, building a strong technical foundation from the ground up.

A decade on, Hannah now leads engineering for battery storage projects for customers across many sectors. Her impact continues to be felt across the business, with several systems still operating on code she originally developed.

We recently welcomed several students from Scarborough UTC and Headlands School & Sixth Form for work experience and were delighted to receive positive feedback and interest in our apprenticeship scheme.

Over the course of the week, students gained hands-on experience across multiple departments, including electrical and mechanical engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, IT, stores, and health & safety, providing a well-rounded view of the business.
