Hello everyone, I've been quiet for a while but ready to launch the new business operation, the mechanical engineering and design subsidiary of my Black Art brand.

New website and contact details coming soon.

I am a self-employed contract mechanical design and systems automation engineer with over 20 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.

Please see my other business, Black Art Graphics, which has kept me busy for the last 11 years but which has been temporarily closed for the last 2 years for personal reasons. It will be resurrected in the coming weeks!

In the mean time, please check out this little project from nearly 2 decades ago, which needs to come back to life...

This is the 'Komodo Firefly', a concept racing car I designed at uni back in 2007, originally designed to use a Hartley Hyabusa derived V8 engine and Hewland sequential, but now being redesigned to utilising a Subaru EZ30 flat six engine and 6MT transaxle tranmission.

(Yes, if you're wondering, there is a Komodo Dragon concept too, but that is secret!)

I would love to build this for real one day now that the 3D printing technology has caught up to allow me to do so!

This was one of those jobs that we didn't think would take too long, but it turns out that engraving something 3m long on a bed with a 600mm working depth requires quite a lot of preparation to make sure that each section lines up perfectly.

Was done a few years ago now but as I recall, it took a good few days non stop to get finished!

Final article is looking fantastic, bravo to Harry Fletcher and the team at The Woodmans Arms, we look forward to assisting you with some of those upcoming projects in the future! 😎👌
