Mac Tools Isle of Wight are pleased to be the podium sponsor for the Isle of Wight Car Club for the 2026 season.
Well done to those that took part, the weather was amazing. The driving was to a great standard and very close right up to the final run of the day.
Auto testing is a superb way to get a start into motorsport.
If you’ve never seen it before, have a look at the car clubs calendar for future events and go and have a look, or even better , take part. Drivers from the IoWCC have continued on to sprints/hillclimbs/ circuits/rally’s etc across the UK and Europe. Who knows what direction your motorsport path could take.
Just a shame Malcolm (club chairman) and I were having a conversation as the photo was taken. 😂

22 competitors took part in the inaugural autotest of the 2026 season at Fort Street Car Park. The dry and sunny conditions held up all day allowing competitors to make the most of the tarmac venue. The competition was very close as the large majority of drivers had a gap of under a second between them.

Wayne Hole achieved his position with a time of 44.98 seconds, just 35 hundredths of a second faster than Dave Goodwin. James McEnery put in a fastest time of 46.14, 1.16 seconds behind Wayne.

Rob Highmore achieved a fastest time of 48.81 seconds.

A very successful first round for Wayne Hole gaining 50 points for the overall championship and 50 points for Class 2.

🥇Dave Goodwin
Not only did Dave Goodwin place first in Class 3, he secured second place gaining 49 points overall and 50 points within the Class 3 championship.

🥇 James McEnery
Another podium placed competitor who secured a class win, gaining 50 points in the Class 4 championship and 48 in the overall championship.

🥇 Martin Goddard
Martin Goddard recorded a fastest time of 51.02 seconds.

🥇 Emerson Ridett
Emerson Ridett secured 1st place in Class 6 but also came 6th overall with a time of 47.3 seconds.

Louise Highmore placed 7th overall with a time of 47.65 seconds.
