Fresh off the production line. 😮‍💨

Our TruLaser 5030 and TruStore 3030 are working together as one production cell, keeping sheet stock close at hand and parts moving through the laser.

With the automated storage handling the sheet stock, there’s less manual handling between jobs, leaving the operator more time to keep an eye on production, check the quality and deal with anything that needs attention while the laser gets on with the cutting.

Press brake after press brake... a sight that speaks capacity.

Across the workshop, we have 10 press brakes from Amada and Bystronic, ranging from 50 to 400 tonnes, alongside a new automated forming cell from Trumpf that can produce unmanned parts weighing up to 100kg!

With so many options on the shop floor, we can match the press to the job and work across different material thicknesses, keeping production consistent as the parts move through the workshop.

Last week was World Maritime Day, a good moment to recognise the people, vessels and equipment that keep the maritime sector moving. ⚓

Marine environments can be unforgiving, with constant exposure to saltwater and moisture.

That makes durability an important part of the fabrication process. Components need to be made with their end environment in mind, particularly when they’re expected to provide a long service life in harsh saline conditions.

It’s a consideration that comes into the work we carry out for customers in the marine sector, helping them get fabricated components suited to the conditions they’ll be working in.

What difference does a £1.3m investment make on the shop floor? 👀

Back in 2019, we expanded our laser cutting department with three Trumpf machines, including the TruLaser 5030 supported by the TruDisk 8001 and TruDisk 10001.

Since then, they’ve given us more flexibility in what we can take on, from straightforward components through to much more complex profiles and shapes, while increasing our laser cutting capacity.

Suited, booted and ready for powder coating!

This batch of fabrications is entering the final stages of production. Powder coating will provide a durable finish, helping to protect each part against wear, corrosion and general handling in service. 💪

Once cured, the components will move into assembly before being inspected, packed and dispatched to the customer.

Your favourite duo is in action on our shop floor today.

Inside our TruBend Cell 5000, the TruBend 5230 and BendMaster are working together to keep production flowing and produce consistent bends with minimal operator input.

With the automation handling the repetitive work, our operators can keep a close eye on quality throughout the run, carrying out regular checks and picking up any issues early.

This means they can focus on quality while the cell keeps production moving, keeping quality at the centre of what we do. 👌

What can you expect when you come to us for sheet metal fabrication?

Before the rest of the batch moves through production, we're verifying this first-off component against the drawing to confirm every critical dimension is exactly where it should be.

Inspection continues throughout fabrication, with portable equipment like the FARO Arm helping us verify components at every stage and ensuring they meet specification before moving on. 🙌
