Office Supervisor – Vertical Lift Services (VLS)
📍 St Helens
💼 Full-time | Permanent
💷 Salary: To be discussed, based on experience
About VLS
At VLS, we keep you moving safely, compliant, and working when it matters.
We’re a growing business that values people who take ownership, move quickly, and fix problems rather than talk about them.
No fluff. No hiding behind process. Just getting things done properly.
The Role
We’re looking for an Office Supervisor to keep the day-to-day running smoothly while leading the admin side of the business.
This is a hands-on role. You won’t just oversee work—you’ll be in it, making sure everything is done right, on time, and without chaos.
You’ll act as the bridge between engineers, customers, and the office—keeping everyone aligned and on track.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Supervising the admin team and day-to-day office and activities
• Supporting and guiding office staff (if/when the team grows)
• Keeping on top of SLA’s
• Coordinating job admin: scheduling support, paperwork, updates, quotations as required
• Managing incoming calls, emails, and customer queries
• Keeping systems, records, and documents accurate and organised
• Supporting invoicing, purchasing, and general admin
• Making sure engineers have the information and support they need
• Spotting bottlenecks and fixing them before they cause problems
What Good Looks Like
• The office is organised, calm, and under control—even when busy
• Jobs move forward without constant chasing
• Customers get clear, fast responses
• Paperwork is accurate and up to date
• Problems are solved early, not passed around
What We’re Looking For
• Experience in an admin, coordination, or supervisory office role
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• Confident communicator—able to deal with customers and engineers
• Able to prioritise and stay on top of multiple tasks
• Comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions
• Practical mindset—you fix problems instead of waiting
Bonus (not essential)
• Experience in engineering, construction, or service-based businesses
• Familiarity with scheduling or job management systems
• Basic finance/admin knowledge (invoicing, purchase orders)
What You’ll Get
• A key role in a growing, no-nonsense business
• Real responsibility and input into how things run
• A straightforward team that values action over talk
• The chance to build structure and improve how the office works
• Competitive salary based on experience
A Different Kind of Expectation
We don’t want someone to just “help out.”
We want someone who:
• Keeps things under control without constant direction
• Takes pride in running a tight, efficient office
• Fixes issues before they become problems
