10 years ago today I married my best friend.

I can’t say enough good things about this beautiful lady. The most kind, least self-centred person I’ve ever known, and watching her blossom as the best mum to our little boy has been the joy of my life.

Couldn’t do it without you Sally.

Trawling through some old photographs and found this - the first batch of knives I ever sold as a knifemaker around 6-7 years ago.

The orange G10 versions were the genesis of Rushbrooke Knife Company - hard use working knives made to a bench made quality at an accessible price.

The bottom three were the beginning of my custom handmade work - all here being my Deerstalker model.

Looking at these, there’s so many things I’d now do differently - small changes and improvements over time. Be interesting to know if these are still in daily use.

Does anyone else suffer with showing the unfiltered imperfections in our lives?

Though I’m striving to build a flashy, polished and flawlessly efficient company with Rushbrooke Knife Company, it’s not where I’m at now.

The reality is a cobbled together boot-strapped business with heart and soul producing the best we can with what we’ve got - and that’s ok with me.

I also drive my wife’s old 09 VW Tiguan.
