Our engineers recently attended a commercial marine vessel to provide technical support to a client operating Volvo Penta D13 MG engines.

Following a bearing failure on the central generator, a replacement idler pulley and belt tensioner were installed. The starboard generator also required a replacement fuel pipe fitting.

All fault codes were cleared, and the engines were run and tested to verify correct operation before the vessel was returned to service.

Our engineers recently attended a commercial marine customer’s vessel to replace the rear turbocharger on their Volvo Penta D13 IPS900 engine.

Following priming and the installation of new seals and gaskets, the engine was carefully rebuilt and test-run to verify correct operation and ensure there were no faults.

With testing successfully completed, the vessel was returned to service.

Following the inspection, the engine was fully rebuilt and test run at our workshop. Upon successful completion of the testing, the engine was returned to site for reinstallation.

Our engineers have recently completed the removal and replacement of a Volvo Penta UK IPS 30-D for a wind farm customer, following initial inspections that identified metal contamination within the oil.

The existing unit was removed and replaced with a new IPS drive, which was laser aligned and commissioned within just four hours. The vessel was then ready to return to service, minimising downtime and ensuring a swift return to operational capability.
