Another week, and another batch of cutting!

Just a selection of the 1130 parts cut in the latest batch, delayed slightly by the Bank Holiday Monday, but we're on with sorting and shipping now. First shipments with Royal Mail should hopefully go this afternoon, courier to collect tomorrow for delivery on Wednesday for the first of the larger shipments.

This time we have everything from a little O gauge model to a customers own drawings, all the way up to a large 7.25" tender/driving truck. In between are parts for 1" Minnie, 2" GMT, 4" Foster, Gauge 1 County, Gauge 1 Project, 3.5" Princess Marina, 3.5" BR1F tender, 3.5" Britannia, 5" Simplex, 5" Springbok, 7.25" Duchess, and a heap of custom parts we don't know what for! Always good to see the hobby is very much alive, and not just alive but following many and varied pathways.

Ed was off to play trains today with G1MRA Midlands Group at the British Motor Museum Gaydon, in support of the Gauge 3 AGM, and took the Derek Crookes / Malcolm High design LNER D49 for a trundle. Had a few troublesome runs recently with the pump not feeding, but after a little work this week it's back running nicely again. This is in 10mm scale and the parts are available from us, listed in the G1 menu on the website.

Yesterday was a very busy day and we completely forgot to take a picture of the latest batch to be completed! 1487 parts have been cut and will be winging their way to customers this week.

Friday 22nd May is currently the deadline for orders for the next batch with delivery in early June. If you are coming to the Sweet Pea Rally at Rugby MES on June 13th and 14th you can save the delivery cost and collect from us there, but this will be the last batch to guarantee being ready for then!

Slightly delayed by the bank holiday weekend and a need to shuffle a few things around, but another week, another batch, and this batch seems to have been the batch of the big bits! Not much showing on the table today, the bigger bits are scattered around, but still 754 parts done. We have got a few more parts still to finish off, but the first lot of orders will go out with Royal Mail this afternoon, and the courier will be here tomorrow to collect the first lot of parcels.

Very mixed set of parts as usual, we have Traction Engine parts again, some spokes & some hornplates, and of course the railway parts in a wide spread. Cut on this batch we have everything from large 7ΒΌ" parts, a spread of various designs in 5", we have some 3Β½" parts, all the way down to large 2Β½" gauge, Gauge 1 and 16mm. The eagle eyed may spot some 'Jack' parts in there, and if you subscribe to our YouTube channel you'll have noticed that Holly has been hard at work and has released the next episode of her 'Jack' build! It's looking like an engine now πŸš‚

South (Africa) meets North (Wales)!

Holly's had a day off today and she's been busy in the sunshine working on our test track, adding some nice details to make it a railway. As we haven't quite finished laying all the track, we needed to make sure where the shed siding was going to go, and make sure there was enough room for trains to pass, so engines needed to be got out!

The last day of a manic 10 day stretch, we're all a bit tired now!

We have had the Gauge 1 Spring Show at Statfold, a batch of cutting, and then the National Garden Railway Show at Stoneleigh, and we're just working on packing the remaining orders from that batch of cutting to get them shipped this afternoon. Oh, and we just started the next batch of cutting, it's all go!!!

The NGRS was a great day as always, come home with some work to do for the 16mmers....yeah...you know who you are...slave drivers...🀣 Development days are going to full on for a while for sure, but you'll have to wait and see what's coming. Parts were purchased from Roundhouse Engineering Co.Ltd. while we were there, and conversations have been had πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

While we had the stand set up, it was a great opportunity to get together 4 of the Graham Duncan-Smith designed and built (3 off) along with Chris' own build NGG11. Holly's own took the top spot and certainly got plenty of studying. If you fancy one, RTR or in part form to build your own, get in touch or head over to the 16mm section of our website.

Bank Holiday weekend is on the way, if the weather holds we're hoping to complete the circuit of our own garden railway (32mm of course, the one true gauge 🫣)...at least then it'll be ready for testing the new product πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€£

Another batch of parts completed, 1661 parts this time, and another sorting day. Slightly different photo subject this week.

Something that laser cutting is very good at, is making lots of parts the same, and something Traction Engines have, is lot's of parts the same! Good opportunity this week as we have spokes, strakes and spuds, all for 1" Minnie, 2" Minnie, 1.5" Allchin, and Ransomes Sims and Jeffries Light Steam Tractor all on the same batch. We need to be careful sorting these out, in some cases there's very little difference between the spokes, and we need to make sure we pick the right ones!

It's all go at MEL HQ this week, we'll work our way through this batch and get as many orders shipped as fast as we can, some will be waiting until next week though. We'll be working longs days to tey and get everything done, but some of this batch is show stock, and we need to get that packed ready for Saturday so we've got things to sell!!

We are in the middle of a manic 10-day stretch at the moment, and are absolutely rushed off our feet, so please bear with us! We were at the G1MRA Spring Show at Statfold on Saturday last, and this coming Saturday we are again out at a show, this time the National Garden Railway Show and 16mm AGM. We're also just finishing off cutting the latest batch of parts so we've got the inspection and sorting of those parts to attend to aswell, we'll get through it, but there's going to be some long day's this week!

We will be setting up at Stoneleigh on Friday so the chances of the phone being answered are pretty low, but if you email we will get back to you but probably outside of normal business hours.

Picture for attention! We've just redone our packaging for these kits, so have a photo handy. These are our kits for Snailbeach Hopper Wagons and are available in both 16mm and 7/8 scales. Castings are from Trenarren Models or Model Earth, and wheels from Slaters Plastikard, we'll have them with us at Stoneleigh
