Mercedes A-Class, currently non-running. Quick diagnosis revealed a failed head gasket, a known issue with the new triangle cylinder head design shared across Mercedes, Nissan, and Renault. Straight forward repair.

Replaced the timing chain on a BMW 335d N57, and the customer wisely chose to replace the main and big end bearings too. Definitely a smart move, considering the N57 engine's known issues with bottom end failures.

Golf GTI arrived with reported engine oil leaks. Upon inspection, multiple leaks were quickly identified from the sump and timing covers, along with a coolant leak from the water pump. The customer chose to replace the timing chain kit, future proofing the engine for many more miles.

BMW 116d N47 timing chain failures seem to be the theme this week 🤯. We rescued another one! Recovered from the customer's home, engine stripped and assessed within hours. Great news – we could save it! Rebuilt with a new timing chain kit, main and big end bearings, rocker arms, etc. The amazing team at Walkers gets you back on the road faster than anyone else!

Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost came in with a failed timing belt (wet belt). Unfortunately, the customer also had cylinder head valve damage. But, good news, we were able to remove and recondition the cylinder head super fast and get them back on the road.

Completed a full recon of a used BMW N20 engine core, as per customer request prior to installation. Upon disassembly and inspection, the engine was found to be in surprisingly good condition. The reconditioning process was completed in-house. A straightforward and efficient project – we wish all jobs could be this easy

BMW 435d failed timing chain.

Customer had the chain kit replaced by another garage less than 12 months ago, After inspection we found a sub standard chain kit had been fitted (FAI) ❌

Believe it or not, turns out the customer was lucky the chain failed, upon inspection we found a bigger issue…..the main bearing was seconds from failure.

We were able to remove the crankshaft & polish it, keeping everything standard & saving the customer thousands 💰💰💰

Pay cheap pay twice….do the job right the first time & save some money.
