We recently received a strainer that was no longer fit for purpose. Within just a few days of placing the order, Croft manufactured a replacement to be dispatched, minimising production downtime.

We have specialised in manufacturing these filters for nearly 40 years. During this time, we’ve seen them used across various industry sectors, each requiring a unique filtration solution. At Croft, we work with our customers to custom manufacture a filter that meets their exact specifications.

A Legacy of Loyalty

We have a dedicated team of staff which is evident in the fact that many remain with the company for a significant portion of their careers. We currently have a workforce of 16 who collectively represent over 220 years of service. In the 40 years since we were founded we’ve provided over 650 years of employment with members of the team working for as long as 23 years right up until their retirement.

A Thank you to The Kings Trust

During the formation of the business, we received a £1,000 grant (around £3,000 in today’s terms) from The King's Trust Enterprise Programme, which supports young entrepreneurs and aims to improve employment prospects. This support proved vital for the directors during a period of financial constraint. Without this initial backing, we might not be here today.

Resilience in the Face of Adversity

Like any long-standing business, we have overcome a number of challenges the biggest being the day the workshop roof collapsed due to strong winds. This devastating incident led to 50% of our staff being hospitalised. Once the building was repaired, our team returned to work with incredible strength and determination. Their resilience helped us pull through this tough time and brought the business to where it is today.

Investing in our future

For almost 40 years, Croft has been investing in the future. This is reflected in our talented team and our Investors in People accreditation a certification we have upheld for over 20 years.

Furthermore, through our collaboration with universities and colleges across the UK and abroad, we have welcomed more than 200 students, providing them with essential hands-on industry skills.

What a milestone!

We wouldn’t be where we are today without the incredible support we received in our formative years.

Following Mark’s nine years (and five days!) of military service in the RAF, the Royal British Legion provided an interest-free loan of £2,500—equivalent to approximately £7,500 today—to support former service personnel in establishing their own businesses.

This money enabled the partners to purchase essential manufacturing equipment such as a lathe which is still used to manufacture filters today.
