This C&W Electronics DC drive arrived with us after the customer reported repeated fuse failures. After an initial inspection, our engineer Dave Melia commented that the drive might even be older than he is.🤔
Our team carried out a full assessment and tested all major components, including the Thyristors and the field bridge. During the inspection, we identified a seized heatsink cooling fan along with a welded relay, both contributing to the fault.
To restore the drive, all capacitors and relays were replaced, and any poor solder joints were carefully reflowed to improve long-term reliability and performance.
Once the repair work was completed, the drive was tested continuously for 4 hours in our workshop to ensure stable operation under load. After successfully passing all tests, the unit was prepared and returned to the customer, ready for reinstallation.
At Neutronic Technologies, we understand how important fast and reliable repairs are for keeping production running. Our engineers work on a wide range of DC drives, from legacy systems through to modern industrial equipment, delivering repairs to the highest standard.
