🚜🔥 Econ Engineering is heading to the Kelsall Steam and Vintage Rally🔥🚜

This weekend, the Econ team will be making the journey to the fantastic Kelsall Steam & Vintage Rally, taking place on 20th & 21st June at Churches View Farm near Chester.

As one of the UK’s biggest celebrations of steam power, vintage machinery and classic commercial vehicles, the event is a brilliant opportunity to celebrate the engineering heritage that continues to inspire the industry today. From beautifully restored steam engines and tractors to iconic trucks and working displays, there’s something for every enthusiast to enjoy.

We’re proud to support events like Kelsall that bring together communities, preserve our industrial history and showcase the innovation and craftsmanship that have shaped engineering over the years.

We’re Hiring: Mobile HGV Technician – Dumfries, Scotland 🚛

Join Econ Engineering, the UK’s leading supplier of winter maintenance vehicles and become part of a team keeping the country moving through every season.

We’re looking for an experienced Mobile HGV Technician to work from home and cover the surrounding areas, carrying out maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and breakdown support on our modern fleet of winter maintenance vehicles.

🔧 What we’re looking for:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience maintaining HGV/PSV vehicles
- Experience with Mercedes and DAF trucks is highly desirable
- HGV Class 2 licence preferred
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Flexible and proactive approach to work

- Coordinating hire activities and supporting field engineers
- Managing invoices, job cards, and customer documentation
- Handling customer enquiries and providing excellent service
- Maintaining vehicle and compliance records
- Preparing training packs, manuals, and calibration certificates

- Has excellent organisational and administrative skills

What a brilliant weekend!

From vintage vehicles and engineering stories to plenty of sunshine, smiles and tractor enthusiasts, the Econ team had an amazing time at The Tractor Fest @ Newby Hall

Our heritage fleet was proudly on display all weekend, attracting visitors of all ages and sparking some fantastic conversations about Econ’s history and the machines that helped shape it.

A massive thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, take photos and share their own memories. We loved every minute of it!

This weekend, the Econ Engineering team will be at The Tractor Fest @ Newby Hall, bringing along some of our favourite heritage and vintage vehicles from the Econ museum collection.

From classic machinery to engineering history, it's a great chance to celebrate where we've come from, catch up with fellow enthusiasts, and enjoy one of the biggest tractor events in the country.
