As hospitality businesses are now well aware, the Employment Allocation of Tips Act 2023 states that it is mandatory for all tips to be passed on to workers without deductions. However, from 1st October 2024, further legislation has been introduced regarding the fair and transparent allocation and distribution of tips, gratuities and service charges.

One of the most important changes is that records of tips must be kept for up to 3 years and any member of staff can make a written request to see these records every 3 months. Workers are able to enforce their rights regarding this legislation through employment tribunials.

Thankfully, if you use a Samtouch or eZeePos EPOS system, you can now access reports specifically for tips and gratuities. These reports are stripped down financial reports showing limited information as required to show to staff. Take a look at the example report below.

Debitrak Rewards is an app based solution that thanks customers for their repeat business with instant product or point based rewards based around their purchases at your EPOS terminals.

It is easy to set up and even easier to manage. No tangled cables and connections, just a smart phone app that will unlock all the great system features and start to build some more great reasons for customers to keep coming back for more.

Debitrak Rewards is product or points based, where a free coffee or food item can be received after a specific number of that product has been purchased. Alternatively, collect points and spend them at the EPOS terminals or save them up for a special purchase. Debitrak can also offer discounts to selected users on selected products at selected times.

Lock down selected days of the week as well as time periods through the day for rewards and discounts to encourage off-peak trading to match your business.
