When metal is perforated, it doesn’t always stay perfectly flat. The process can introduce stress into the material, causing it to move, twist or lose consistency across the sheet.

But we don't just take a brief and send it straight into production. We work closely with our customers to shape the idea properly from the start.

That usually means exploring a few different options together and tightening things up early on - this includes material choice, perforation pattern, dimensions, finish, coating colour if needed and any other details that make a real difference to how the final part performs.

Around the shop floor, we’re constantly checking in on the detail, making sure everything’s running as it should, from materials and tooling through to pattern, hole size, finish and overall accuracy.

It’s actually the third machine of its kind we’ve brought in, with our relationship with SCHNUTZ going all the way back to 1995!

We're excited to further strengthen our in-house capability for handling and preparing material, giving us greater control and continuity across production.

Climate Change Day is a good reminder that every industry has a part to play. 🌍

Day to day, we’re focused on doing things properly, reducing waste where we can, recycling as much as possible and making sure any hazardous waste is handled responsibly through licensed carriers in line with Environmental Agency requirements.

We also look at the smaller details, like cutting down on unnecessary packaging and improving energy efficiency across our processes.

It’s not something separate from the business, it’s just part of how we operate.

Lights, camera...perforate! 🙌

As the Cannes Film Festival kicks off this week, we thought it’d be a great chance to go down memory lane and revisit a project that took us from the workshop floor straight into the world of blockbuster film.

When Jurassic World Dominion came to us, the brief was simple on paper but exacting in practice - 3mm aluminium panels with 26mm hexagonal perforations.

We worked closely with the production team to deliver panels that met tight tolerances and were ready for action on screen.

It's not every day you find yourself making parts for dinosaur enclosures…but that’s exactly where this one ended up!
