At Jacksons of Reading, we’re looking for an experienced Motor Vehicle Technician to join our friendly, well-established team in Spencers Wood.

We’re a busy, professional garage that takes great pride in looking after our customers — and we’re looking for someone who shares that same pride in their work.

🔩 ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone who is:

✔️ Qualified with at least 3 years’ experience
✔️ Reliable, hardworking and self-motivated
✔️ Happy working independently as well as part of a team
✔️ Experienced across a wide range of makes and models
✔️ Confident carrying out repairs including engines, gearboxes, clutches, brakes and general servicing
✔️ Comfortable using diagnostic equipment
✔️ Professional and friendly with excellent customer service skills
✔️ In possession of their own tools
✔️ Holding a full, clean UK, Irish or EU driving licence

⭐ WHAT WE OFFER

💷 Excellent salary paid depending on experience
🕗 Monday–Friday, 8am–6pm
🗓️ Alternate Saturdays, 8am–1pm
🌴 21 days’ holiday including bank holidays

💼 THE ROLE

You’ll support the smooth running of our accounts and office administration, with responsibilities including:

• Processing supplier invoices and statements
• Managing customer invoices and payments
• Chasing outstanding payments
• Reconciling accounts and daily cash
• Processing parts returns and credit notes
• Supporting our company accountant
• Maintaining MOT and customer records
• Sending service & MOT reminders
• Stock and general office administration
• Managing staff holiday and timekeeping records

⭐ WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:

✔️ Is organised, reliable and approachable
✔️ Has excellent attention to detail
✔️ Is confident working with numbers
✔️ Has good Excel & Word skills
✔️ Is confident using email
✔️ Can work independently and as part of a team
✔️ Has previous accounts or administration experience (preferred)

Full training will be provided on our in-house systems, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop their skills in a varied and supportive role.

‼️‼️Jacksons are looking for a Motor Vehicle Technician ‼️‼️

Jacksons of Reading, Spencer’s Wood currently has a vacancy for an experienced Motor Technician to join our team. Salary is negotiable, in line with experience.

Person Specification:

Self-motivated and driven

Able to work individually and as part of a team

Experience in working as a technician in the motor trade is essential

enjoy working in a busy environment

Applicants must:
- have at least 3 years’ experience as a qualified motor technician
- have a relevant qualification (NVQ/CG )
- have a good understanding of processes
- be able to follow set procedures
- Must hold a full, clean UK, Irish or EU driving licence
- be able to work independently
- be able to demonstrate advanced technical knowledge
- have your own tools
- represent the business in a professional manner
- provide high levels of customer service

You will be highly experienced in all types of auto repair, able to work on gearboxes, engines, clutches, brakes etc on a wide range of makes and models of cars. A good knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment is invaluable. Self-motivated, positive and approachable, you will be working as part of a team.
