There has been a hardware store in Fortescue Road since the 1890’s. Our proper old fashioned hardware store has only ever had 3 owners. It was started by Mr Orchard, who ran the shop until Mr Tiley took over in the 1950’s. Mr Thomson took it
on in the 1970’s and it is still family run. Known to all our loyal customers as 'Mr T', Mr Thomson is now in his 90’s, but he is still 'the boss' and no matter the question, he will usually have the answer. Proud of our heritage and traditional approach, we pride ourselves on the knowledge and expertise we have gained through the decades. Our years of experience mean we know which products really work and are right for the job. There are some lovely customers who have called the store an Aladdin's cave of products. With everything from the newest tech to the old fashioned favourites. Like the traditional Victorian ironmonger, we try to keep a range of products to cover all eventualities in the home.
