♻️COOL HISTORY♻️

🚢 The Antikythera shipwreck 🚢

In 1900 - 48 Bronze and marble statues were recovered by fisherman just off the coast of Greece. Including the 2 in the pics.

The statues were believed to have been made in 70 - 50 BC. Showing an INCREDIBLE amount of detail and craftsmanship.

Amongst this haul, was the “ Antikythera Mechanism” also in the pics. Which is one of the most unexplainable items ever found. Appearing to a kind of 2000 plus year old mechanical computer …… (of sorts)

With over 30 precision cut bronze machine gears…

It tracked: ancient games, the planets, the moons phases, as well as working as a calendar and predict eclipses, and other astronomical events
