Nice little job in from a local company.
Original hopper on 5his salt spreader had seen better days, as you can see so we have made a new hopper from stainless steel for longevity.
All measures exact to original, even though its inches with being an American machine.

Nice to be doing these now instead of the week before the frost starts.

Busy start to the year.

We were commissioned to make 2no separation drain tops for a yard to be concreted.
These frames will bring the FFL to the desired height for the yard they will be on.
Heavy sections were used as artic trucks at a combined 'loaded' weight of 44 tonnes, possibly more in the future will be turning round over these.

Also, the tops, to be concreted to be the same level as the yard, are all removable using the lift points, as well as the two steel beams in the thirds of the frames to allow the separation drains to be cleaned out using the machines the company own.

This was all designed by us, here at Keighley's of Longton Ltd.

Sent away for structural calculations to be done.

After fabrication, sent for galvanising to Roften Galvanising

All in all,, I think they will be able to take the weights and withstand the test of time.

Great job by all involved.

All box section rolled 'in house' using our section rolls and composite boarding supplied by a new supplier whos boards look more like 'hardwood'

Im pleased with the job so far and I'm sure the customer is too. A design I sketched up whilst talking to the couple and they loved it straight away.

Other companies went to price for the gates but they told the home owners 'no, can't do it like that. Can't have that colour'

If that's what the customer wants, that's what the customer gets!!!

Another Stainless Steel handrail fitted today in Clitheroe for another Spar store.
The original was made using glue fittings and over time has fallen into bad repair.
This one is fully welded with removable section for access to change fridge counter units in the store.
Also, using a 48.3mm tube at regulation height instead of the low 42mm tube used previously.

One of our suppliers gave my number to an agricultural engineer to see if we could help out.
Needed some blades making for a fan.
Sample brought and its got a round in it.
Bit of um&ah and I thought,, yes, I can.

Material ordered, stripped on guillotine and pressed with round nose tooling into rubber die.
