Farnborough is getting closer! ✈️

From 20th-24th July, we’ll be at the Farnborough International Airshow on the Midlands Aerospace Alliance stand, representing the PES Group alongside our sister company Precision Technologies.

The aerospace sector never stands still. Tight tolerances, challenging materials, short lead times, certification and full traceability are all part of the job, and that's exactly the kind of work we deal with every day.

We’ll be there to talk about the manufacturing side of aerospace projects, from precision-machined components through to custom tooling and production support.

Trial and error is always part of the job.

Complex parts are easier to design than ever these days. Producing them accurately and repeatedly is where the challenge starts.

With our 5-axis Hedelius machines, we can manufacture complex prototype components quickly, but material movement, machining stress and distortion still need managing properly to achieve the right result.

That’s why we’ll sometimes test different machining methods first, like this component shown here in its roughed state, to find the approach that delivers the best final result.

It’s not just F1 pit crews pulling those infamous overnight shifts to improve a car’s set-up. 🏎️

Sometimes that need flows down the supply chain, where you’re asked to do the “impossible” - making parts and getting them to the team faster than a V12 down the straights.

We’ve done this a number of times over the years at Langstone, and it’s a real credit to our team and their commitment to supporting our customers.

There’s nothing quite like receiving this kind of feedback from a satisfied customer.

We’ve just finished making some promotional coasters, but instead of just ordering them in, we made the mould tool and produced them ourselves. 🤝

It’s a pretty good snapshot of how we work: taking something from design, through machining and toolmaking, and into full production in-house.

With the Canadian Grand Prix being such a fast, low-downforce circuit, every part on the car has to perform. 🏎️

This motorsport aerofoil wing we manufactured isn’t just carbon and metal, it’s a precision-engineered component designed to perform, lap after lap.

Around Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, where the track is stop-start with heavy braking zones and quick acceleration, that level of precision and consistency really matters.

It’s one of the many high-performance parts we produce to support teams pushing the limits, built on the quality and reliability they depend on.

A nice look at one of our tools doing its job just nicely!

This video shows a fuel system connector injection mould tool running in production, from the end of a cycle through to part removal and straight back into the press for the next run.

It’s easy to focus on the finished parts, but the real workhorses are the tools behind them, producing thousands of components consistently.

In this case it's for the automotive industry - but the same principle applies across a wide range of sectors we support!
