Folks, we had a near miss yesterday when Tom, coming out of our shop door, was just a split second away from being mown over by a cyclist on the pavement! Not a little’un, a full size grown up, riding on the pavement at top speed! Firstly, cycling on a pavement is illegal in any case, secondly, not too many of us round these parts are nimble enough to leap back in time safely, and thirdly, if you hit us and knock us down, we won’t bounce! And you probably won’t be looking too pretty afterwards, either. Shop windows to one side, that huge kerb to the other…
I am shameless enough to add to this post that we are, of course, glad to welcome in cyclists looking for a bicycle pump or a puncture repair kit. Or anything else we sell, for that matter! We just don’t want to eyeball you atop your bike as we come out for a Calor gas bottle….

Here we are, a Bank Holiday and it’s going to be warm!! We know you’ll be out enjoying the garden, but we’ll be open 10-12 in case you need gas for the barbie or Tomorite for your toms. And, if you’re ready to get the bedding in, or the slugs got to them, we have some lovely bedding plants from Lobelia to Salvia, via Petunia and Gazania .
