The product presents a serious risk of electric shock because it is not earthed. Under fault conditions, this means accessible parts of the product could become live. If the user touches these parts, they could receive an electric shock.

⚠️ Product Safety Report for Vestel UK Plugs in Bush TiVo Televisions. 2 of 2

The products present a risk of fire as the plug fuse does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1362. A compliant, correctly rated fuse is required to ensure the safe operation of the product under fault conditions. Should a fault occur, the plug may overheat and catch fire.

This affects Vestel UK-branded plugs fitted to various models of Bush TiVo televisions sold by Argos from December 2024 – March 2026.

To check whether a product is affected and request a free replacement accessory (replacement power cable or fuse) you can visit: https://argos-productcheck.tmti.net/en/bush_tv_cable/start.html . Follow the online steps to arrange for a replacement plug and lead to be provided. Once the replacement plug lead has been received, customers should remove the original plug lead and dispose of it safely via a WEEE recycling facility. ⚠️

During recent PAT testing visits, I’ve found multiple Dyson vacuums with the same fault — a split cable where it enters the body of the machine.
This type of damage exposes live conductors and can lead to electric shock, short circuits, or even fire.

If you notice frayed or taped cables like this, stop using the appliance immediately and have it inspected or replaced.
Regular PAT testing helps catch these faults before they become dangerous.
